Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a wife and a future mother. I'm a lover of good literature and love to write. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the stereotypical Utahan; born and raised in Utah and Mormon. Desiring to stand out from the crowd, I dreamt of the day I would be famous. I wanted nothing more than to be on the cover of a magazine. In my teens I finally broke into the industry and quickly disliked everything about it. I settled for going to college and getting a degree. My education landed me a job for a publishing company and I thoroughly enjoyed working with future authors. This experience changed my life and has inspired me to write. I am now a stay at home wife and enjoy filling my time with writing and reading. I also love to run and exercise. I hope to run a marathon in my near future. As mentioned above I am a wife. The blessing of a husband came much later in life than planned. Some blessing are worth waiting for, this was certainly one of them. I have learned so much from my husband and find great joy in the blessing of being married for all eternity. I'm looking forward to being a mom in the near future. Throughout my life things have turned out much differently than I ever expected or planned. I have learned that, although in the moment I refer to these changes as trials, they are truly my greatest blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

In my teen years I began to question my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I prayed often to know if the Book of Mormon was true. Feeling neglected by my Father in Heaven I began to doubt the truthfulness of the gospel. I only went to church to appease my parents desires. While at a youth camp the following summer, I began to see answers to my prayers that I first offered up 9 months earlier. The spirit began to fill my heart and I could in no way doubt that the Book of Mormon was true. I learned at that camp that God loves me and that He had been answer my prayers the entire time but I needed to change my heart to find the answers. I have never doubted my testimony since that experience. When troubled times arise I lean on the things I learned and the spirit I felt that week. I know that prayers are always answered, although not always when we want them to be or how we want them to be. If we are patient and turn our hearts to God, He will always answer our prayers.

How I live my faith

Serving in the church brings me so much joy. I served a mission in Richmond, VA. Serving a mission prepared me to be a better member of the church and has helped me serve in different callings. I enjoy attending religious meetings on Sunday. I also enjoy teaching Sunday school to the 14-15 year olds. I love to teach the youth. They have such good hearts and really desire to be Christ like.
