Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Husband, a father of four, a Corrections Officer, an avid ATV enthusiast, I raise roller pigeons, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small town in Northeast Arizona. I am number 10 out of 11 children. Coming from a large family I enjoyed quite a wonderful childhood with lots of heroes to look up to. I play the cello. I served a mission in Hawaii and really enjoyed serving the Polynesian people and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I currently work at an Arizona State Prison as an officer. I have many hobbies and interests. I raise Birmingham Roller Pigeons and even own a family of birds that I received from President Tomas S. Monson's. I love the outdoors and love to ride my ATV. I married my best friend and together we have 4 wonderful kids. My family is my greatest source of joy and I dearly love them all. Families are the most important units in society. My greatest aspiration in life is to see my family be together & happy. I will count myself as successful in life if I can provide the same happy environment that my parents provided to me. My family enjoys spending time outdoors especially in the woods out with the wildlife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS home. The Prophet Joseph Smith is a distant cousin of mine. My family has roots dating back to the beginning of the church. I had the opportunity to decide for myself if I were to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I read and pondered the scriptures myself & felt the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I spent a lot of time on my knees with my Heavenly Father pleading for answers to my questions & doubts. I have been confronted many times about my reasons for believing the way that I do. I can honestly say that I have had first-hand answer to prayer regarding my personal testimony. The witness of the Holy Ghost to my heart was and is undeniable. The sweetest feelings in life are brought by the Holy Ghost. He testifies of truth and brings peace & comfort to the soul like no other. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and is very aware of me. I know without a doubt that Jesus is my personal Saviour as I have exercised his Atonement in my life & have felt the peace of knowing that I can be forgiven for my mistakes. I love the scriptures and have marveled at their insight and guidance in my personal life. I have a strong testimony of prayer. I love the fact that Heavenly Father is just a prayer away, He hears and answers them. This life is our time to prepare to meet God. I have dedicated my life to following the Saviour and sharing the Gospel. I can honestly say that life is so sweet when coupled with the blessings the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do not know what life would be like without it. The Temple blessings are so awesome that I cannot even beging to explain. Having my family bound together forever is the most wonderful thing to my wife & I. I absolutely love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I served a full-time mission in Hawaii for 2 years. I have also served as a teacher to the children, youth & adults. I serve as a Ward Mission Leader with my wife as my companion. I sing in our ward choir as a tenor and enjoy singing in the community choir. My oldest daughter served a full-time mission in Costa Rica. My oldest son is serving a mission in Idaho. I think that serving others is the quickest & best way to feel happiness. I love taking my family with me to help other people. Some of my most cherished memories in life involve serving others. I believe in the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I have received so many blessings that I can honestly say, "Give the Lord a crust & He will return you a loaf". The Savior commanded us to Love God & to love our neighbors. I have found that if you do one, you are doing the other as well. I extend to you an invitation to find out for yourself the peace that the Gospel brings. As your brother, I would hope that you can enjoy all of the blessings that I have experienced by becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
