Hi I'm Kari Turner

I'm a soccer player,college student,singer & song writer,rookie cook,photographer, A full time Missionary, & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Montgomery Alabama. I am the youngest of six girls. Growing up my dad worked in the air-force, so i moved around quite a bit. At times it was hard, but knowing I always had the church made things a lot easier. It was always reassuring to know I could meet friends quickly who had the same beliefs and standards as me. When I was a teenager I moved to Utah. In high school I loved being involved. I was on student government, was in choir, and played soccer. I loved playing soccer, I feel it was a great outlet for me. I attended Southern Utah University for two years where I received my associates degree. Going to college was the greatest experience for me! I had the opportunity to share the gospel with some of my friends I made and it has strengthened my own testimony. I have put my education on hold for 18 months to serve a full time mission in Lubbock Texas. I want to share with others the happiness and joy I feel this gospel brings to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church has been such a blessing in my life. My family, parents especially, have been amazing examples to me. They taught me how important it was to follow the standards of the church, and that by following gods commandments it truly makes you a happier person. I always attended church and believed when I was younger, but I would say it wasn't until I was a freshman in college when I gained a full testimony of the church. I no longer had my parents testimonies to rely on. I was to attend church, read my scriptures, and pray because I wanted to. I was able to share the gospel with my three roommates who were not LDS. One of my roommates was converted and baptized into the church. I will never forget the changes I saw in her. She became such a happier person. She had a special light to her. It was through her hardships and example that really made me realize how special this gospel is. I am so grateful I know where i'm heading in my life. I know exactly what I need to do to return to my father in heaven again someday. I love the Book of Mormon. It truly is just another testament of Jesus Christ to go hand in hand with the Bible,it has helped me with so many questions and doubts I have had in life. Why am I a Mormon? For the peace and love it brings in my life.

How I live my faith

As most college students, I love to have fun. However, I do not drink coffee or tea, I do not drink alcohol or smoke, I am careful with what types of music and movies I listen to and watch. I attend church for three hours every Sunday. I study my scriptures and say my prayers daily. I try to live my life to the fullest with a happy and positive attitude.
