Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. My family and I baptized in October of 1989. Soon after being baptized my company gave me the opportunity to work in Germany. We lived in Bavaria for 7 years and had to drive about 70 miles to get to an English speaking ward in Munich. While there both of my sons learned to ski and my wife and I took advantage of the many opportunities to travel that were available. Favorite vacation was to spend Thanksgiving in the Maldives.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife and I were looking for a church that we felt welcome in. The catholic church we had been attending was to impersonal. Our neighbor at the time was a Presbiterian minister whose church we attended and requested more information but nothing came. A new friend in our new neighborhood came by one day and asked if we wanted to view a video with her family about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We agreed, began seeing the missionaries, and were baptized about 3 months later.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Sunday School President. Prior to this calling, I was a primary teacher. I learned more about the Gospel teaching these wonderful children than I have in any other calling or class that I have been involved in. I live my faith by helping out members of my ward family and also my neighbors. I never push the fact that I am Mormon but I never hide the fact either. I love my church and will do anything that I am asked knowing that "when I am in the service of man, I am in the service of my God."

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Look around. You probably have acquaintances who are Mormon. Some of your co-workers are probably Mormon and would be more than happy to talk with you about our faith. You can also look up The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in your phone book or on-line and get phone numbers of the missionaries or of a meeting house. Show more Show less
