Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for a little over five years. I just finished my bachelors degree in communications last year. I enjoy cooking, traveling, outdoor activities such as camping and hiking, tennis, and crafts. I love trying to learn new skills, I've been trying to learn how to sew and speak Spanish. My husband and I moved across country from where the majority of our families live a year and a half ago. We've been adjusting to being away from family and the sense of security and routines we felt in our hometowns. We are enjoying the opportunity to create our own traditions, as well as the get to know new people and cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have studied the Book of Mormon, I know that it is true and is the word of God. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and is aware of me. I have always been blessed to have certain people put in life, to be a friend, guide, or comforter to me when I've needed help most. I love that through the church I was taught I could communicate with my Heavenly Father through prayer and know that he would listen to me, comfort and strengthen me, and answer my prayers in the way he knows I need. Many times while I've either been reading my scriptures, attending church, or serving others, among other things I have felt this overwhelming feeling of peace and love. I don't feel that same feeling as strong when I attend other religions or when I don't make the best decisions. These experiences have helped shape my testimony and reaffirm my decision to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow Christ's example; living as Heavenly Father would have me live and by serving others.
