Hi I'm Dan

I am a carpenter and have been in the trades all my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I love the out doors, camping, hiking, scuba diving, fishing, and a little hunting. I am restoring my boat which is a 16' Glasstron tri-hull, open bow, with a 70 h.p. short shaft Mercury outboard. I work a lot with the Boy Scouts and am an Eagle Scout myself. I in joy wood working and have my own shop. I have built a lot of differant projects including custom cabinets, book cases, and turning things on my lathe. I am a losy speller and wish this had a spell check button but I think I have each word right.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, went on a mission to the east coast and have served in many ward and stake callings. So you could say that I am a Mormon becouse I was born one, but that would not speak the whole truth. Sooner or later each one of us has to look themselves in the mirror and say "Why do I do this?". If that answear does not come from God then you are built upon a sandy foundation and you will fall. I am a Mormon becouse I styudied, fasted, prayed, and recived an answear from God the this is his kingdom here on earth. I have witnessed the power of the priesthood in my own life and in the lives of others. The Holy Ghost has, and continues, to teach, testify, guide, and comfort me. There is only one way for you to know, find out for yourself from God. Will you pay the price for you to be able to hear, and then listen?

How I live my faith

Right now I get to work in our youth program. Although I have spent many years as a Scout Master in LDS troops I now work more with the Adult youth leaders on how they can help the youth in there areas. I also get to orginize outings for the youth, right now we are planning a 5 day, 50 mile hike in the northern mountains around Mt. Shasta.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

I wonder how many people you come to know and respect either personaly of through study? There are many historical people that I have respect for, our founding fathers of this nation are some of them. Joseph Smith is another. I respect him for who he is and what he has done. But I do not worship him. My worship is for God, our eternal Father, who lives in Heaven, and for his Son Jesus Christ, my savior and redeemer. God has always worked through prophets and I am gratful for Joseph Smith as a prophet, as well as our living prophet today. Show more Show less
