Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Idaho and I am a father of 5 daughters and 1 son. I am a sales representative.

About Me

I am happily married to a wonderful woman who likes to point out that she was a 7th grader when I was a senior in high school. We are blessed to have 5 daughters and 1 son. The older 3 are married and we enjoy our 4 grandchildren and anxiously await 2 more next year. I have been involved in the major appliance industry in one form or another for most of my adult life. It doesn't seem too glamorous; but, it has allowed me to take care of my family. My mother still enjoys good health and lives close by. We all miss my father who died some 10 years back. It has been good for our family to have extended family close by and we enjoy spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

We are often know by the nickname of Mormon; but, the full name of our church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". I am proud to be a member of the church that bears Jesus Christ's name. I believe that we are expected to follow Jesus Christ's example and strive to be like him. I have loved having the Gospel and church in my life as it has helped me to be a better husband, father, and citizen of the world. I know that I am expected to obey the Lord's commandments and I feel that I am blessed as I try to do the right things. Another great blessing of my membership in the church is that I have the direction of a living prophet on the earth who leads the church here on earth. This is part of the wonderful plan that the Lord has for us. I have a firm testimony that we will be resurrected. This knowledge helped me so much when my older brother and my wonderful father passed away, unexpectedly.

How I live my faith

Our church is a church of service. No one is paid and we all accept responsibilities to make sure that the church operates properly and that all members are cared for. I currently help the full time missionaries and I had previously worked with the youth in our congregation and have held leadership positions. I believe that we are "our brother's keeper" and I look for ways to serve in the community.
