Hi I'm Larissa

I'm a wife and a mom to four little kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah, and lived in Arizona during my teenage years. I went to college and got my degree in nutritional science. I love to play sports - soccer, volleyball, softball, snowboarding, and running (sometimes)! I also like to quilt, blog, and make things for my house or my kids. Our family loves to get outdoors and go hiking or camping or exploring. We've lived in Milwaukee for school, Seattle for residency, and now are back in Arizona. We have four little kids, with the youngest just a few months old, so its a fun and busy life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to call myself a Mormon! The teachings of Jesus Christ bring me much happiness. I know that He knows who I am, He knows my struggles and my joys. He knows each of us. I am thankful to know that following my Savior is the way to have true happiness. I hope I can teach my children this, so that they will know where to turn to find meaning and happiness in their lives. Reading the Book of Mormon helps me come to know Christ better, and the more I read and pray, the more I feel peace and direction in my life. Christ has made it possible for us to return to live with Him someday, and to be with our families forever - I am so grateful to know that! What amazes me about the gospel is how all-encompassing it is - from family relationships, to good health, to emergency preparedness, good finances, serving others, etc. . . . we have a Heavenly Father and a Savior Jesus Christ who want to help and direct us in our lives and have given us the answers we need through the scriptures and inspired prophets, and yet allow us to choose for ourselves. How wonderful that is!

How I live my faith

Right now, I work with the children at church, and my job is to teach them about making good choices, being kind, and especially that they are loved by their Savior Jesus Christ. It is a fun job to have! I am lucky to be able to see their enthusiasm and the light that the children have and the love they have for the scriptures and for the Savior. The church gives me many opportunities to serve others, including neighbors, community, and others in the congregation. Most importantly for me, is living my faith in my home and with my family. We can have a happier home, and teach our children by example, by trying to follow Christ's example of love, unselfishness, charity, patience - although I have a long way to go!
