Hi I'm Les

I was converted to the LDS Church 45 years ago.

About Me

I played several sports... Basketball, swimming, racquetball and golf. I have been married for 45 years and have a very large family. I now enjoy bike riding and golf. I graduated from college and taught school for 28 years then retired. My wife and I enjoy walking on the beach and visiting family members.

Why I am a Mormon

I was invited to play softball with the 'Mormons" and met some nice people, who invited me to their house for treats after each game. My girlfriend came along and we discussed sports and religion. I was interested to know more about the LDS church so my friends started inviting the missionaries to our post-game get-togethers. As I learned more about the LDS beliefs and read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, I felt a sureness that it was true. My girlfriend, who attended the games and get- togethers, also became convinced of its truthfulness. We were married and baptized in about a two week period. We have been married for 45 years, have a large family and have never regretted our decision to conform our lives with the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. My sureness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the LDS church has grown stronger and stronger over the years. I am very thankful for the testimony I received from the Holy Spirit that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of our Savior Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon is the word of Christ.

How I live my faith

I have held many callings in the Church over the years. I have just moved to a new area and will probably receive a new calling soon. I have held many leadership positions and taught numerous classes during my years of church service. I taught in the public school system for 28 years and coached several sports.
