Hi I'm Ken Coman

I was born in Spokane, Washington. I am happily married and a father of four. I am a Human Resources professional. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and being a Dad. I love to read... I read to my kids all sorts of fiction - Lord of the Rings, Fablehaven, Nancy Drew, etc. For myself, I love to read history, biographies, and philosophy. I have a constant hunger for understanding. I am an active Freemason in my community as well as Boy Scout leader with 8 years of service in the BSA as an adult leader. I love to hike, be in the outdoors, and visit historic sites. Professionally, I work in Human Resources and love to help companies create a culture that values performance and that treats all with dignity and respect. Ultimately, I am trying each day to be the best I can be, to love my family, to make a difference in my community, to make the world a better place, and to serve those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I am a seeker of Truth. I believe in God and desire to know Him. In my quest for truth and understanding I have found the doctrine and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be a well from which I have drawn and which has never ran dry. The teachings of the church of Jesus Christ have transformed my life, made me a better man, provided a foundation of faith, and helped to create a relationship with my Heavenly Father that has been a source of strength, joy, direction and truth for me and my family. I am happy because of the church - truly happy. I have experienced fading happiness and emptiness and I have tasted true joy - and I never want to let it go - and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have served thrugh the years wherever I have been asked. I have been a Missionary in Brazil, a primary teacher, a Home Teacher, a teacher for the adult men and an Advisor & Scout Leader to the young men. I help to organize weekly scouting events and Sunday lessons for our 14-15 year-old young men. Through all of my callings I have come to realize how much the church helps me and each one of us who serve to grow and develop faith. The Church is ran by the members, for the members. Service transforms us into better human beings and better fit to live the gospel in our daily lives. Most importantly though, I try to live my faith inside my home and at work - not with my religion on my sleeve but by living the Golden Rule, loving others, forgiving shortcomings, seeking to better my life and to love my family.
