Hi I'm Rich Schroering

I'm a truck driver. I'm a dad. I love learning about history. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fifty two year old father of four. I have three boys ages twenty, eighteen, and fourteen, and a daughter seven. I drive a truck for a living. I like seeing new places and learning about them. I like reading and learning about history. I spend most of my spare time following and supporting my kids activities such as football, ballet, robotic, and gymnastics. My wife and I have been married for twenty two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been a member of the church since August of 1997. I was raised as a Catholic but fell away as a teenager. For many years I didn't go to church or think about things religious. When I met my wife, who has been a member of the church her whole life I had my first exposure to the Church. I became impressed with what I felt was a completeness in the doctrine that is taught by the Church. So many things were cleared up in my mind. I felt like the things I learned in my youth were made clearer and more complete as I studied and investigated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All of the things I learned were great but my conversion came as I read the Book of Mormon. I got a feeling in my heart that what I was reading was good and was of God. I felt the spirit as I read. I have always loved the Holy Bible and I love the way the Book of Mormon reaffirms the things that are taught in the Bible. As I have had the opportunity to live the precepts taught in the Book of Mormon I have had many instances when I have felt the Holy Spirit testifying to me that these are true precepts. As I look back on my life since that day I was Baptized in 1997 I can see how the Lord has worked in my life to make me into a new person and no longer a stranger to Him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith the way all who profess their faith in Jesus Christ do, by trying to follow the example that he set. I try to be loving, tolerant and kind to all I come in contact with. I;m not perfect at it but I try. I also try to further the work of the Lord by Sustaining the local and general leadership of the Church. I do this by serving in the Church and in my community. I have held callings or responsibilities in my ward or congregation that have helped me to grow as well as, hopefully made the lives of others better or easier in some way. Hopefully through my service I have also helped to draw those I have served and myself closer to the Savior. I am currently serving in the young men's organization of my ward working with boys ages twelve to nineteen. And I am the Scoutmaster of our Scout troop. I love serving in this responsibility and like seeing these young men grow as they learn out door skills and the good citizenship that scouting teaches.
