Hi I'm Gavin Andrus

I am from Erda, Utah. I'm a lifeguard. Social Media Marketing graduate. Pool lover. I love to laugh, And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I grew up in Farmington Utah. After which I moved to Erda when I was about 6. I went to Stansbury Elementary, then Grantsville Elementary. I went to Tooele High. I am the middle child of 7 children. I worked at the Pratt Aquatic Center lifeguarding, and teaching swim lessons. I love taking pictures of this beautiful world! I love going on dates, and just have a good time with others! I love bringing laughter to those around me, and seeing others smile! I have been home from the Oregon Salem Mission for over 2 years now. I also served in the Oregon Portland Mission, and served in the Aloha 1st, North Marion, Walters Hill and Damascus McMinnville 2nd, Yamhill and Madras wards. I love laughing, and I love hearing laughter coming from others. I love working with computers, and hope that is what I will go into for a living! I recently graduated from LDS Business College with a degree in Social Media Marketing.

Why I am a Mormon

The main reason I am a Mormon is because that is what I was born into, and grown up being. But I also have found out for myself that it is Christ's true church here on the earth. I have read the Book of Mormon, every single page. I have prayed to know if it is true. The Holy Ghost has born record to me that it is true. I know that God will answer your prayer. He is always there for all of us. We just have to learn to put our trust in Him, and ask Him the question. It is just like making a phone call. You just have to talk and wait for the reply. He will answer you.

How I live my faith

Well growing up I was very nervous and shy around people. I wasn't that good at sharing anything with people. I always wanted to share my religion, but I didn't know how, and was always scared of what people would say. Being out here on a mission has changed that point of view for me. I share my belief with many people each day. Many of them refuse to listen, saying they don't want to change, or their religion is the truth. Being out here and sharing my testimony has made it grow, and helped me gain the confidence and courage I need to share the gospel. I know that when we share our testimony, it grows, and we gain a greater understanding of God and His ways and love!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Gavin Andrus
Everyone here needs to find out the truth. To some truth comes quickly like turning on a light, to others it comes over time, like the rising of the sun. Me coming to know of the truth came over time. I grew up in the church, I did what my parents told me to do most of the time. I read my scriptures, sometimes. I loved going to church only because I loved learning about the many different stories that are in the scriptures. But I didn't know if it was true, I didn't understand what it all meant. I finally wanted to know for myself. In the Book of Mormon there is a scripture, Mormon 10:3-5, here is a perfect example of how to get an answer through prayer. So I decided to do that, pray and ask God, the All know-er, if The Book of Mormon is true, and when I did this a sense of peace came over me, I knew and know now that it is true, and always will be true. So if you want to know something ask God, and He will tell you! Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Gavin Andrus
Being a missionary myself I know first hand what we say! We have a message, an unique one. A message about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it has been restored through a living prophet of God. We talk of God's love for all mankind, and we offer our help with anything, we love to serve! Show more Show less
