Hi I'm Austin
I'm attending college with a major in computer science. I'm a Mormon.
I am a poor college student. I started college as a music major, but soon realized that if I ever wanted to provide for my family in the future I should choose a career that brings in a lot more money. That's why I switched to Electrical Engineering. I thought this would be a good idea since I played the guitar which has plenty to do with electronics. Turns out that electrical engineering is really hard. Fortunately, the Lord has blessed me to find a passion in computer science. I have been programming ever since and I love it.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up going to (the Mormon) church only because I was forced to. As soon as I got the chance, I stopped going. For a few years I really disliked everything about it, but due to divine intervention which came in the form of great friends always looking out for me even though I'm sure they knew that I was a lot of trouble, I was able to find the church and define Christ in my life. I'm a mormon because I knew that there had to be a rhyme and a reason to this life and when I decided that I wanted to spend my life as happily as the mormons around me, I knew it was time to go to church. I used to go for long walks at night when I was depressed and I needed someone to take care of me, to be my friend. I had moved around a lot as a kid so it was hard for me to compete with lifetime friendships when I had only lived in the area for a year or two. One thing that I noticed was that as I would go for these walks, someone that I knew always seemed to drive/walk/ride by and invite me to something. It never failed. I would be in this critical state of depression and someone amazing would come by and help me out. This is how I knew the Lord loved me.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by avoiding evils that I know will only bring me misery. I reach out to those around me by helping them however I can.
