Hi I'm Jared Malin

I grew up in Canada, I love to play sports and be with friends and family. I served an LDS mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a university student studying international business. However, I love to get out and do many things from football and baseball to snowboarding and water sports. Another one of my passions is to see the world. I've been to places like New Zealand, Cuba, Peru and Mexico with many more in mind to visit. I love to see how cultures truly are and help those in need. Although I like to get out and be active sometimes, as an introvert, I just like to sit back and relax in my own home and watch movies or sleep to re-charge my batteries. I love watching documentaries or other movies based on true stories that help me understand how things are done or appreciate how I live now.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had the privledge of growing up in a family that were part of the mormon faith. However, I don't remain in this church today because of the fact I was born into it. Being apart of this church is hard work, but the blessings are without end. It is a religion that if you don't truly have a testimony of it, it would be easy to walk away from but this is something that I continue doing because of the miracles of prayer. I have read The Book of Mormon and took Moroni up on his challenge in Moroni 10: 3-5 and have prayed to my father in heaven to know if it is true. I testify that I have received a firm confirmation from his messenger the Holy Ghost that not only is The Book of Mormon is true but that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one and only true church upon the face of the earth, although I do believe that many other religions contain partial truths. I know that Jesus Christ died for me. That he did for each and every one of you that we may return to live with him and our father in heaven. That we may be united with our families for eternity and receive resurrected bodies in their perfect form. I also know that through Christ's atonement (sacrifice) for us not only can we return to live with him and our father in heaven again, but we can be forgiven of our sins and have guilt and sorrow removed from within us. I know that Joseph Smith was called of god to restore this church to its fullest. That god does live. That He gives us revelation through our living prophet Thomas S. Monson and his twelve living apostles. Also, that we can receive personal revelation through the gift of the Holy Ghost that good may lead us to safety. I know that as times get tough and we think we can't carry on any farther, if we humble ourselves and pray sincerely to our father in heaven and specifically ask him to feel of his peace and love that he has for you that he will calm you as he can calms the seas. These things I say in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I show my faith by serving others. I am a returned missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served my mission in Mexico City for two years. Although many laugh and mock at the time they think I may have waisted from my life to serve a mission, it truly was the best two years for my life. For those two years I payed to live in Mexico and devote 100% of my life to learning the gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing it into the homes of many families and individuals. Not only did I teach the gospel but we served those in need with whatever it was they needed. Now as I have returned home to Canada I have been called as maintenance organizer for both our temple and our stake centre. This means that it is my duty to make sure our holy temples and church buildings are maintained and cleaned. Also, I am a home teacher who once a month visits the home of four individuals/families to see where I can serve them and to share a gospel message with them.
