Hi I'm Keenan

I'm an athlete, a mountaineer, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ribeirão Preto, Brasil. When I return home, I will go back to BYU and finish college, studying sports medicine. I come from a loving and supportive family in Medford, Oregon, who contributes much to the community and loves to serve. I am an avid athlete- I play soccer, basketball, I swim, and I love to backpack with friends in different mountain ranges. I always try to have a positive outlook on life, because I have been blessed by the Lord with so many great things. Because adversity and disappointment show up from time to time, life is not easy. But in the grand scheme of things, there is no reason to be sad because it only impedes one from enjoying life and having fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and my family has remained active in it throughout my life. I have two parents who love me with all their hearts, and siblings who all support me and who I can support through anything. I have three older siblings who have served full-time missions for this church, and I have been fortunate enough to visit two of the places and the people they served (one in South Korea and one in Malaysia). I was able to witness first-hand the indescribable happiness this true Gospel has brough into the lives of the people whom they served and taught, and I know without a doubt that this gospel does in fact bring peace, security, and true happiness to those who choose to accept it and live its principles. I cannot imagine my life without this gospel. My life has not been as difficult as the lives of those in other parts of the world, but I have experienced my own adversity and my own trials. However, through those trials there was always one thing that kept me afloat and brought me back to shore; The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, comparable to the Holy Bible which we revere and study deeply as Mormons. In the Book of Mormon the fulness of the Gospel, the same gospel which Jesus taught when he lived on the earth, can be found and studied. I cannot describe how many times I have struggled with something in my life, then searched for direction and guidance, and found my exact answer through prayerful study of the Book of Mormon. I know, without a doubt, that it is Holy Scripture and that it truly is the Word of God, just like the Bible. I know that this is the true Gospel, and our Savior´s true Church. If you have a question or concern about the Book of Mormon or this Church, click on the "VISIT US" tab at the top of this page and meet with the Missionaries. These men are humble servants of God and I promise that they will guide you to the truth you need and are seeking.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings throughout my life in the Church, but I have now accepted my greatest calling yet, which is to serve a full-time mission. I have left my family, my friends, my schooling, and everything from my life at home to serve a mission in Brasil for two years. Some people ask me why I would just put everything on hold- studies, friendships, personal life... But I have done this because I know that this gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is true. I know that as I represent my Lord Jesus Christ, and as I serve the people in Brasil, I will be able to bring more peace and happiness to their lives with the message of the true and restored Gospel than they have ever felt before. I would not drop everything for two whole years if I didn't have a strong conviction that this gospel were true and a firm desire to share it and bring the joy and security that I and my family feel on a daily basis into the lives of others.
