Hi I'm Sue

I grew up in Idaho. I love being a Mom and a Grandma. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mom and a Grandma and a Wife. Three titles I cherish. I enjoy playing the piano -- used to teach piano lessons. Now I'm learning how to make baby quilts! I finished my college degree late in life and now enjoy part-time work as an administrative assistant. I love to read historical fiction books.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me the foundation for who I am. I have been a member all my life. The knowledge of God's Plan of Happiness helps me keep things in perspective -- not that I'm perfect at it, but it helps remind me of the important things in life. The Gospel gives tremendous help in raising a family in this crazy mixed-up world. I know I am a daughter of God who loves me. I know that Jesus Christ, through his atonement, gives each one of us -- yes you -- the opportunity to repent, overcome weaknesses and strive each day to be better. I know that I will someday answer to God for the choices I make. I know that I can live with God and Jesus Christ again. I know that I can be with my family, as a family unit, after we die. How could a loving God not want us to be with those that we love here on earth? I know that Christ stands with outstretched arms to help me in my daily life and daily struggles with a love and compassion that I cannot totally understand.

How I live my faith

Each day I strive to communicate with God through personal and family prayer. Reading the scriptures daily, personally and as a family, helps me feel of God's love for me and to learn more about Him. I have the opportunity to teach lessons from the New Testament every week in Church. It's amazing when you really study the scriptures how much there is to learn from them. I have the opportunities to teach the adults. Each year we study a different part of the Scriptures - Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants. I have learned so much. I also have the opportunity to play the organ for our Sunday meetings for congregational singing and for our choir to practice and sing. Occasionally I will also accompany a soloist or group of people who are singing in our Church meeting. Having sons who have achieved the rank of Eagle, I appreciate the opportunity to help plan and organize the Scout Court of Honors and the Eagle Scout Court of Honors. It's always interesting to meet new people and learn more about them. I enjoy the assignment to visit three different ladies in my church each month. Visit with them, see how they are doing, learn about each other and look for ways that I might serve them.
