Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a hardworking stay-at-home-mom of all boys and am one tough cookie. I love anything sports and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Texas and moved often growing up. While leap-frogging around the country, I became involved in sports and music. I blew out my knee while in a tournament in high-school which began my love for athletic training, which I earned a degree in for college. I met my husband in 8th grade while playing dodge-ball; his P.E. class versus mine. He accidentally hit me in the face and was ever so apologetic. I was most impressed! Although I really liked him, we didn't date until after his L.D.S. mission and were married in 2006. We like to look back and say it was, "love at first fight". We now have three little boys that keep us on our toes. Like their mama, they each seem to enjoy sports and music! Our home is filled with happiness and love.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Like many members, I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but have developed my own testimony and love for the gospel. As I study the life of the Savior and His teachings the more my testimony grows that this is the true church. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. Keeping the commandments of the Lord leaves me fulfilled and confident. I am at peace with who I am when I try my best to be the person the Lord would have me be. I am a Mormon because it helps me raise my children up to be good people. I firmly believe in the teachings of the church and that they help me to instill good principles in my family. Being a Mormon and keeping the covenants I have made means that I can live with my dear family eternally and that is what I what more than anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping my covenants, teaching my children, and serving in my callings. I want my children to see that I love the Lord and will try my best to do what is right. As I teach by example, I want it to be a good one. I faithfully attend my church meetings, read personal scriptures each day, as well as family scriptures, have personal and family prayer, and try to attend the temple on a regular basis. I serve as 1st counselor in the Young Women Program. It is a delight to work with these young, beautiful daughters of God, trying to help them see that they are virtuous and lovely. As I strive to set a good example for them and teach them the word of God, I realize, I too am a virtuous and lovely woman. I do my best to do what is right and have unshaken Faith that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I want to live in such a way, that those who don't know me, would know simply by my actions that I am a Mormon.
