Hi I'm Ron

I grew up in PA. I was a christian, but not in any active church, until I met the missionaries and was baptized. Now,I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a Para-Pro for a K-6 charter school. I mainly tutor math to the 5th and 6th graders. I love my job. I have a disability that confines me to my wheel chair. I am a paraplegic from a fall years ago. I am a motor head, but limited to what I can do because of the wheel chair issue. I love music, and audio equipment too! Maybe alittle too much! I had gone to a community college with music oriented classes, but that didn't work out too well. It seems that I am better at listening to the music as apposed to making it.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't living a very good life. I was one of those party hardy kind of guys, but knew some thing was missing! One day I went into my appartment and was disgusted by the filth. I then had, what later I found out to be, a personal revelation! Heavenly Father let me know, I was either with Him, or I was against Him! WOW! I quit smoking, I quit drinking , and use of drugs. That's it! I quit! I was not going to be a slave to these things any more! While looking out past the court yard in my appartment complex, I saw 3 very nicely dressed ladies. They looked so out of place in this place! They had some sort of name tags that I couldn't quite make out either. I had to investigate! "No one here knows any one like that". I thought to my self, "I am going to investigate!" That investigation led me to three wonderful sisters( female church members) from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Two of the sisters were missionaries. They were about to talk about Our Heavenly Father, and Our Saviour, Jesus Christ. They asked me if I had believed in each of them, which I did. In less than 3 weeks I was baptized on a Saturday, Sunday I was confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am a convert and am blessed to have been converted. Two years after becomming a member, I met my soon to be wife. This year was our 15th anniversary.

How I live my faith

I have had many duties with-in the church since I have joined. I love teaching individual families, classes too.. I had clerical jobs also.. It has been one thing after another as far as blessings go. One of the classes taught in church was a class on marriage, and family. My wife and I learned budgeting in that class, along with other helpful principles. My wife and I began budgeting immediately. Pretty soon we had taken classes on buying a home. Soon after that we were able to qulify to get a home! We have now been in our home for 8 years now. Like our church being run voluntarily, I am on a "volunteer only" type of home owners association. I love serving in any capacity both in the community, and in the church. I have had the opportunity to help can food at the church's "Bishop's Store House", also volunteering at the thrift store. I love talking about Our Heavenly Father, and His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our Savior, and Redeemer. And to think, just some years back I was on a one way ticket to losing my eternal life with our Heavenly Father. Thank you Lord for allowing me that chance to come back to you.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Ron
God has called prophets to lead His Church in our day, just as He did anciently. The current prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. He is assisted by two counselors—Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uctdorf. Together, they make up the First Presidency of the Church (much like Peter, James, and John after Christ’s death). Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Ron
You can be forgiven of your sins through the Atonement of Jesus Christ by the process of repentance. Because Heavenly Father knew we would sometimes make wrong choices, He provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins (John 3:16). He provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross so that when we sincerely repent, we can be forgiven (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 4:6).
