Hi I'm Tann Samuel Jones

I grew up in Paradise, Utah. I joined the military as a dentist for the United States Air Force. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Tann. I have always been told that this is a unique name. I have always been proud of my name and the fact that it is unique. I am in the United States Air Force and serve as a dentist. I enjoy being a dentist and helping people improve their smiles, which ultimately improves their lives and how they feel about themselves. When I am not working first and foremost I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and playing with my children. I love playing and building legos with them. I also enjoy camping, fly fishing, cycling, triathlons and most sports. I enjoy building my own fly rods from scratch which makes catching a fish so much better. I served a full time mission to Londrina, Brazil. I will always cherish that experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have always been Mormon. However, I have learned and know exactly why I am Mormon. I recently had the experience of going to a funeral and memorial service for someone that attended the Methodist church. I talked with the family members planning the funeral and even had the privilege of talking briefly with the Pastor and leader of that church. I learned that the Pastor is a very intelligent man. He has his PhD in theology and I am certain he knows more history and facts about the Bible than I do. Both family members and the Pastor spoke of things that I believe in like faith in Christ, resurrection and eternal life. I thought to myself "How will these faithful christian people ever accept the true gospel and what else do they need to know to do so." President Gordon B. Hinckley told other faiths to bring all the goodness they have and let us add to it. I am Mormon because of the knowledge and certainty I have that I am part of the fullness and truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have in my life the very things that President Hinckley spoke of that need to be added to other faith's existing goodness. These things are my knowledge of not only eternal life, but eternal families. I can live in the eternities with my wife and children, how awesome! This is only possible because I have been sealed or connected to my wife for eternity by proper authority. This authority is the Holy Priesthood or Power of God on earth today. It is the same power Jesus Christ had himself when he was on earth and gave to His apostles when he left earth. And I also know the Book of Mormon to be the true word of God given to the world to testify of Christ and to make sure there is no confusion about him or his plan, because with the Bible only there is confusion in the world about our Savior. I CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO BE MORMON! These truths bring everlasting joy and blessings to my family!

How I live my faith

I love to live by my beliefs. In the Air Force people are always looking at me a bit peculiar when they find out I am Mormon. I do things a little bit differently. I don't use foul language or participate in foul behavior or activities. As I do so I notice that people also try not to do these things when they are around me, that is a strong influence even though they may not realize it. I have taught the youth ages 12-18 in my faith. I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach these young kids how to live right and then to watch them do so. I love being a good influence on them. I enjoy going camping with the young men in the church and challenging their minds. As I do so I also become a better individual, father and husband. As I teach them about Jesus Christ my own faith grows and I know more and more that He is my Savior and that He lives. It is great to be able to improve myself while helping to improve others.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Tann Samuel Jones
Yes, I truly believe there is a prophet today just as Moses was the Prophet. Moses spoke to Jesus Christ and was given direction by Him to safely lead the children of Israel out of bondage. President Thomas S Monson is His Prophet in our modern day. I know that President Monson is a true prophet and communicates with our Savior and receives instruction to lead us out of our own types of bondage. There is so much wickedness in the world today that destroys people and rips families apart. By following President Monson's teachings I know that I am following Jesus Christ's teachings. Jesus appointed prophets in the biblical times to lead and guide people according to His will. Why wouldn't he do the same for us in our day? He does, do the same. The same organization that Jesus established when he was on earth exists today and is lead by Thomas S. Monson who is a prophet in every sense of th word and purpose as Moses was. Show more Show less
