Hi I'm Lorraine McPhee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of five kiddos. Our children range in age from 23 to 10, so as a parent it feels like we are experiencing such an amazing spectrum of adventures. One child is in college, one leaving soon on a two year church mission, one in high school, one in junior high, and our little caboose, Preston, is in elementary school. Life is busy! I am white-water kayaker, and love to camp, hike, travel, and read. There is nothing better than paddling a long river with lots of class III and IV rapids in some beautiful remote canyon! I just graduated with a degree in Middle School Education-which was the realization of a life-long education goal.

Why I am a Mormon

I love and cherish my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is the Lord Jesus Christs' true church on earth. Here can be found a living prophet, who speaks to the world. When the prophet speaks, I feel the Spirit of God declaring to me that what I am hearing is the true. This gospel helps inspire me to be a better person, a better mother, wife, neighbor, teacher, etc. I feel hope and the love of my Heavenly Father. It is true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by praying when I awake, and seeking the Lord's blessings on my day and for others. I pray again each night, and actually try to keep a prayer in my heart always. Each day I study my scriptures, because the precious word of God can help me feel the Spirit and influence me to do good. Plus I like to learn about Jesus, and the gospel. As a family we try to have prayer together, and many nights we have a brief scripture study together. To keep my family close, we try to eat dinner together on most nights. We attend church together every Sunday, along with other church-related activities throughout the month. Involvement in church activities builds my faith, allows me to be strengthened, and I get the chance to strengthen others too. My church congregation is very much like my family, I love them, and want to serve the members. One way I serve is to teach the 15-year-old's the New Testament each week. I am also the Cubmaster of a church-sponsored BSA pack. I love it!
