Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kevin and I'm a college student. I am a Computer Science major and love a variety of things from sports to video games. I love music and can speak Spanish fluently. I come from a big family and love all of them. I am a Programmer and love to code in languages like C++, Java and even C#.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't identify one moment in which i knew that the church is true, my testimony has come through the constant proving and trying the message that it shares and by doing so, piece by piece a strong witness has been given to me that this is true. It all started though, with the help of my parents, by a reading of the Book of Mormon. Though I have been a member all my life, that book has changed my life and a particularly important experience was in my senior year in high school when I made the decision to read it everyday. I didn't receive my answer at once but I know that it is true and that everyone can read, ponder and pray to know it too. This is the truth and whether you find that out at once or after time it doesn't matter, as long as you take the time to really find out for yourself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day in the simple things I do. The main things are a daily reading of the scriptures, daily prayer with my Father in Heaven and a weekly attendance to the meetings of the Church in order to participate in the Sacrament.

What is faith?

I often find that faith is highly discussed though not always fully understood. Faith to me is highly related to the principle of trust that we had in our parents as children. As children we didn't understand why eating vegetables or not touching the hot stove was important but for most of us we trusted our parents enough to not do so. For obeying we received desserts or avoided the pain of getting burnt. Faith, like that trust we had of our parents, is a trust in what God says and that doing it will benefit us or others. As we go through life we learn that our parents weren't always honest with us but God is always honest with us. For that reason we can fully trust his counsel and guidance and know that we will be blessed. We don't always know for sure that obeying something God has told us to do will actually help us, but if we just try it with a hope of believing, he has promised to bless us. As you see that he completes his promises you will be more willing to trust him, and your "faith" will grow. Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Mormons are regular people just like you, they are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mormons are firm believers in Jesus Christ and his divine mission here on the earth. The nickname Mormon comes from the Church's belief in a book called, The Book of Mormon, that contains words of the prophets from the Americas as well as a recorded visit of Jesus Christ after his resurrection. Mormons live normal lives like everyone else but are striving to live to standards that the Lord has given us today, through living prophets just like He did in the olden days. In summary, who are the Mormons you ask, Disciples and Followers of Christ and his Church. Show more Show less
