Hi I'm Jim

I'm a husband. I'm a father to four beautiful little ladies. I'm a wannabe v-ball junkie. I'm a kids dentist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most of my life is devoted to my closest friend (my wife) and my 4 little princesses. A lot of drama in the house. Have to take the hair out of the drains and the vacuum...way to often. I can sing in harmony with all of the Barbie songs that have ever been written. But I get the best hugs and kisses a dad could ever want. I'm a high school math teacher turned pediatric dentist. I get to spend my time helping the most wonderful age group on earth, and then come home to 5 of Heavenly Father's most wonderful creations. I love to sing and listen to good music. Music moves me in ways that words can't describe. My dream job would be to play volleyball with my wife everyday. My dream house would be a 12-man tent with a fan and a blow-up air mattress beside a fire and a BBQ grill in the mountains. And I miss New York!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and lived the life of a Mormon from birth. I've always felt very good about my faith and have been blessed throughout my life. When I was 16 years old, I decided to pray to find out if this was really God's church, this belief and faith was all real. I didn't get the answer I was hoping for, at least not at that point. But I did get the answer to do everything that I could think of to create the environment in my life for Heavenly Father to answer my prayer. You CAN'T make a seed grow into a plant, but you CAN create the right environment to encourage it to grow. 3 years later, the answer finally came, alone in my dorm room at college, on a typical morning, after reading in the scriptures and asking Heavenly Father to help me to recognize if He had already answered that prayer. A feeling of peace and joy came over me in such a way that I knew that it was true, that it was real. I have since had many prayers answered and have seen Heavenly Father's hand in my life in countless ways. I find joy in living. I find joy in being with others. I find joy in my family, as I contemplate eternity with my wife and with my children. The Book of Mormon has helped me develop my relationship with Heavenly Father and with my Savior Jesus Christ more than anything else. Prayer provides me with the opportunity to explore my own heart and share it with God, and to be taught by Him through the Holy Spirit. I love the Bible and it's prophecies, teachings of, and witness of Christ. I treasure the teachings of the prophets and apostles that walk the earth today as they did in the time of Christ. Heavenly Father's plan for us, the Plan of Salvation, helps me to understand my place and purpose in eternity. I'm a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is where God wants me to be, doing what God wants me to be doing.

How I live my faith

In a world of wickedness and turmoil, of pain, suffering and evil, I have hope because of my faith in Jesus Christ, my testimony of His Atonement, and my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation. Because of this faith, I meet each day with hope, with a desire to do good. I work towards helping my children to succeed and be happy. And I have hope that each of His children is good. I choose to learn about Jesus Christ, to follow His commandments, and to try to be like Him. In spite of the wickedness of the world, my wife and I have brought children into our family and work to instill in them that same hope, faith, and desire to obey God. It's not always easy, or the most accepted thing to do, but having faith and being obedient is right and feels good.
