Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 36 years to a wonderful girl from California. We have 3 sons, a daughter, and 12 grandkids. I love it in the Arizona desert and have recently discovered the fun in hiking the local mountains. My passion is fly fishing and hobbie is fly tying.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the Mormon Church when I was 19 years old. With a group of friends from California I made a ski trip to Utah. After the visiting the Mormon Visitor Center in Salt Lake City I came home and could not think about anything else. I spoke with a couple of my LDS friends I knew from high school and then called the local Institute of Religion. They made an appointment for me with the missionaries. Three weeks later I was baptized. From this first introduction to the Church I felt something very special. As I prayed and began reading the Book of Mormon I had an incredible feeling come over me that the Church was truly the Church of God. I knew that my Father in Heaven lives and sent His son Jesus Christ. A year and a half after my baptism I left for Uruguay and Paraguay to serve a mission. I have felt the spirit and Gods guidance so many times in my life. Now 40 years later I can say that I have never doubted my decision. I love the Church and am so thankful to know that I can live forever with my family.

How I live my faith

I try every day to live my religious beliefs. My wife and I attend church every Sunday and look at that day to renew our baptism covenants and ponder the things important in life. I serve in our local church (ward) by working with the teen age young men. I have such great respect for them as they are great examples in a world with many temptations and challenges.
