Hi I'm Donna

I'm a wife and mother, a friend and a grandma!!! I am artsy and like to teach, take care of my family and my doggie! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended many different churches when I was younger. I always knew there was a God. I wasn't raised in a church, but was always looking, on my own. When I was dating, my then boyfriend, I had read an article about Mormon's that was so derogatory! I told him all about this awful religion. I then told him all the things I read. He gave me this look, and I told him I'll bring the article and let him read it. He then told me," I am a Mormon!!!" After I picked up my jaw, we discussed what he believed! They were the things I believed! I have loved the things I have learned. I attended John Herron Art College a while back. I have been married almost 44 years. I am the mother of three grown children. They are awesomeI I have two grandchildren, (so far), and they are awesome too!! I enjoy arts and crafts, traveling with my husband, my doggie, friends and family, (extended and immediate) but not necessarily in that order. I am the only Mormon on my side of the family. I also enjoy teaching !

Why I am a Mormon

When I dated (my now husband) I loved how family oriented his church was. My family was not like that! I have always loved the Bible, so reading the Book of Mormon was easy, and it went right along with the Bible! I have learned volumes over the past 44 years. God is a loving God, and the proof is He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bring us back to Him! How much He and Jesus Christ love us is baffling to me! I am very thankful that They love us, and I know I am a daughter of God. The people in my Church are very helpful, and loving. Every calling is volunteer. No one is paid to do their calling, not even the leader of our congregation (the Bishop). Tithing is paid because it is a commandment, but there are no collection plates. The people love Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and their families, and want to be with them eternally. I am so thankful to belong to this Church.

How I live my faith

I believe that kindness begins with me! My family didn't instill that in me, but I have always felt that way. Example is the best teacher. I try to be a Christlike example. I am far from perfect, but I do try to help and love others. I was always a room mother, or class helper when our children were young. I have friends that are of other religions and we discuss our beliefs, and do love each other. I have held many callings in the Church and try to magnify my callings for my Heavenly Father, to glorify Him. I have been in the Presidency of our woman's auxiliary, have been in regional leadership for the children, have been the Young Women's President (12-18year old girls), and am currently working in the children's organization (3-12 year old children). I have learned so much through being in the Church. I helped start a Home Economics club for my neighbors in southern Indiana. I was amazed to find I could have taught any of the classes we had each month, from what I had learned in our women's homemaking classes. I am a Visiting Teacher. We are assigned and visit several sisters each month. We take a spiritual, uplifting message to them and make sure that they are doing well. I love that calling too. I am thankful to have callings. My intentions are good, but I know I will do what the Lord wants me to do!
