Hi I'm Adam Walker

I love music, I'm an IT major, I speak Mandarin, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there. I grew up in Pocatello, ID and then moved to SC when I was about 13. I've been all over this country, but (sadly) never out of it. That is, until I had the opportunity to serve in the Taiwan as a missionary. I enjoy listening to music and playing the piano/keyboard. I am interested in the tech side of things and so I'm studying Information Technology. I'm a licensed amateur radio operator (if any of you are familiar with the USS Yorktown in the Charleston Harbor, I've operated from there) and my callsign is KJ4IPI. I was the manager of my high school football team. I love my friends and spending time with them. I'm an Eagle Scout. I love my mother's chocolate chip cookies :) I find humor in Gary Larsen comics, yes I do. I'm the oldest of 7 children and I love my family. I can see the hand of the Lord in my life and I am forever grateful that I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

In order for me to have my own testimony, I've had to study, pray, and live the gospel independently. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that he loves us. Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten of the Father and because of his sacrifice, because of His Atonement, we have the opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness, mercy and have the feelings that accompany sin taken away. I know that through the Prophet Joseph Smith, Heavenly Father restored His church. The same church that Jesus Christ Himself established when He was on the earth. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that restored church. President Thomas S. Monson is the current leader of this church and I know that he is a living prophet who receives revelation from our Father in Heaven and that by following his counsel, I am in actuality following the will and counsel of the Father. I know families can be together forever. I'm so thankful I was born into a family wherein I learned of the gospel at a young age and it was my privilege to share my testimony and spread the gospel to the people of Taiwan, to tell them that they have a Savior, a Redeemer who died for them so that they can receive eternal life. There is no better news than this, hence, it is the "good news" or the "gospel." I know that the Holy Ghost testifies of truth and that through the power of the Holy Ghost, anyone can know the truth of all things, including if this church is true or not. Just try it. :)

How I live my faith

Growing up in Idaho, it was fairly easy to live the faith, as the majority of those who I knew were members of the church. Moving to South Carolina was a bit of a change. Instead of the majority of my school being church members, I'd be lucky to have a few members in my middle school and especially in my high school. But, I continually strived to be a good example to others and uphold my standards. In church, I served in various leadership positions amongst my fellow young men and recently held the calling of being the Organist for the past year. Fall of 2011 to 2013, I served as a full-time missionary speaking Mandarin in the Taiwan Taichung mission.
