Hi I'm Dana

I am majoring in international business, I sing opera, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of six children and loving parents. I was brought up to love music by taking violin lessons since I was four. I also play the piano a little and the harp as well. Over the years I have developed memorized pitch. When I was in high school, I was the lead in my very first play and from that experience I found a love for performing. I wanted to be an actress on Broadway someday, but when I went to college and had to take classical lessons, I found that I had a greater love and a greater talent for singing opera. I also love all things Disney. I spent four and a half months working at Disneyworld, which was a great opportunity for me. I am also sort of a nerd, since I love to read all of the time. Thankfully I have a couple of friends that get me to go out and play sports so I am not indoors all day. I hope someday to be an opera star or a voice actress and I have had many opportunities to sing since being on my mission in France.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and growing up, I relied on my parents for my spiritual strength. When I was 12, I was at home alone one evening and I pulled out a few songs that I wanted to practice singing. As I went along, I turned to more spiritual songs. While I sang, I realized the Lord's love for me and I knew in my heart that everything I had ever been taught was true. Ever since then I have had countless reaffirmations that what I learn is the truth and that God loves me and wants me to come back to Him. More recently, I have come to find that no matter what I do, that if I make a mistake, no matter how large, that if I am willing to give up that mistake and learn from it, that I can be forgiven, and the Lord will help me to do that. I have seen during my time on a mission why this church is so important to me. I see how the Gospel can bless the lives of every single person in the world, just as it has blessed me, and I want to share that with everyone!

How I live my faith

I am serving a full time mission for this church. I am spending a year and a half of my life in the country of France. Before leaving, though, I have taught with the missionaries that serve in my home town, which has been a wonderful experience for me, and I hope to continue to do that when I return home soon.
