Hi I'm Tonya

I love crafts, I have 3 beautiful girls, so far, I love Christmas Music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married mother of 3 beautiful girls, ageds 10, 8, and 14 months. I work in Facilities and have a degree in Computer Aided Drafting. When I'm not working or spending time with my family I love to read, scrapbook, or try any new craft I can get ahold of. I have recently started getting into photography. I have always enjoyed taking pictures but to get down on a childs level and capture a beautiful expression and moment in time fills my heart with joy. There is no greater gift you can give to a parent than to immortalize that perfect moment of their child. I know this feeling because I feel it when I see a picture of my own child.

Why I am a Mormon

The easy answer to this would be because I was born and raised as one, but that isn't the case. My family was not always very active in the church, but anytime I went to visit my grandparents we were always going. They gave me the chance to spend a lot of time with kids my age and enjoy the time I had in the church. When I hit my teenage years I made many decisions that took me away from the light. I always had a testimony that this church was true but I didn't show it. After having my two oldest girls I knew that I wanted them to be raised in the church, to grow up and know the teachings. More over my oldest daughter began asking to go to church, and moments when I was too tired or didn't feel good she pushed even hard to go. I am a Mormon because it is the true church. I am a Mormon because I want my children to know and see this truth. I am a Mormon because whenever I live and follow the teachings of the gospel, I receive continual blessings.

How I live my faith

On Sundays I have a great calling teaching the 9/10 year old primary class. It has been a great opportunity to teach my oldest daughter about all of the lessons I learned as a child and couldn't always recall. Next year, my soon to be 9 year old will move into my class and I will have the chance to teach her, I can't wait! I'm also a visiting teacher and a route supervisor. Being a visiting teacher has given me a great opportunity to meet sisters in my ward and get to know them on a personal level. As a route supervisor, I check on other visiting teachers to make sure that they have made it out to teach their sisters for the month. This calling has allowed me to see and know the importance of fulfilling my own calling as a visiting teacher. I believe that every calling is for a reason. Sometimes it is to teach someone else, and other times it is to be taught!
