Hi I'm Greg

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a wonderful woman, a father of five, and grandfather of 11 soon to be 13. My sons and daughters all have their own families now, which is a blessing for our family. Although our children and grandchildren are scattered about, we do enjoy the times we can be together, and Skype is helpful. My wife and I always set educational goals in our family, and all five children are college graduates, several with advanced degrees. I'm an electric power engineer, and a Manufacturer's Representative by profession, and love what I do. In addition to family and profession, I have the opportunity to serve the Lord in teaching and leadership roles. During the course of my career, I've had the opportunity for extensive worldwide travel and residing overseas. Hobbies include ham radio and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ while a university student. I felt an imperative need to seek light and knowledge, beyond the challenging school curriculum. Soon thereafter I met two LDS missionaries, who challenged me to read the Book of Mormon, and pray about its truthfulness. I took the challenge, and the Spirit did indeed whisper in my heart that the Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ. Church membership provides a very strong moral compass and framework for raising a family. My family and I have experienced pure joy together, in large measure because of our understanding of the love that Christ has for us.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful priviledge to serve our Lord Jesus Christ by providing service to our local congregation. As a Bishop, there are many opportunities to give counsel and offer spiritual support. The Lord's work moves forward through the faith and efforts of many who serve our congregation.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Greg
I firmly believe our Heavenly Father loves us, and provides counsel through his prophet today. When I first met with LDS missionaries, they testified of the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ through a young man named Joseph Smith. This was news to me at the time, and I needed to pray about this and ask for help to understand this belief of the LDS church. Over a very short time I felt at peace with this teaching, and now believe with all my heart that God does indeed assure all of us that a living prophet is on the earth today. Prophets convey wisdom and commandments that our Heavenly Father wants us to hear, learn, and express. "Follow the prophet" is one of my favorite songs that are taught to and song by the youth of our church. Our prophet testifies of the divinity of Jesus Christ, and teaches us what we must know and do to succeed at life today, and into the eternities beyond. Show more Show less
