Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Utah. I have been happily married for ten years. I have two beautiful little girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the valley of the mountains and enjoy almost anything outdoors. My husband and I like to go backpacking, camping, mountain biking, and fishing together. I have since moved to the flat planes of Nebraska where I have grown to love the farmland, thunderstorms, and humidity. I went to school in Cosmetology and love doing hair and nails which has introduced me to people from all over the world and different walks of life. I love my current job which is being a full time mother to two beautiful little girls. Although it is the most difficult job I have yet to face I never grow tired of hearing my children's laughter or the joy of sharing in their accomplishments. I love baking, sewing, and spending time with my family. I have 4 sisters and one brother. I have been married to my wonderful and loving husband for 10 years.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were married in the temple and I was raised going to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. I knew from a young age that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and that Jesus is the Christ. I was baptized a member of the church when I was 8. Although I was young I knew I was making the right choice. After being baptized I remember the overwhelming feeling of joy and confirmation I got that I had done the right thing. I felt the joy that my Heavenly Father had for me in making that important first step in the ordinance of baptism. I pray and read the scriptures daily. I know that God hears and answers my prayers. I have received so much joy and happiness in my life for the choices I have made because of my faith. I know who I am, the meaning of my life here on earth, and where I will go after I die. I have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and know that it is only through Christ that I can be saved. I know that I can see my loved ones who have died again and that my family can live together for eternity. I am able to hear and receive instruction from living prophets and apostles. I have never felt confused or been unable to find answers to my questions as a member of this Church. It has continually brought me joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

I go to church each Sunday where I am able to learn and study the scriptures and teachings of Christ. I work with children in the primary as a music leader. All the work we do in the church we do as service. Throughout the year we have opportunities to sing and perform for people. It is so rewarding to see the joy this brings to not only the kids but those who are able to hear them sing. Everywhere we have moved we have made close friends very quickly by attending church. It has given us such a wonderful support system both mentally, spiritually, and physically as we help serve one another. My husband and I are totally faithful in our relationship and regard each other as equal partners. I don't drink alcohol, coffee or tea, smoke, or use profane language. I dress modestly and am honest in all I do. I try to live my life each day as Christ would asking myself "What would Jesus do?"

In whom should we have faith?

Emily
We should have faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. To know that he lived and died for us and that it is only through his atonement that we can be saved. We should also have faith in God our eternal Heavenly Father and know that he loves us. Show more Show less
