Hi I'm Jerry Hanson

I am a husband, father and grandfather. I grew up on a farm in Yakima Washington and then a career in the US Navy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While under going advanced nuclear propulsion training I met my wife Garnette Bowman. I knew that she was the one I would spend the rest of my life with and as I would later learn all of eternity. We have been married nearly forty-six years. During that time we raised Four children. We are blessed with twelve grandchildren. Two of our grand children have married, bringing our numbe to fourteen. My oldest grandson and wife (number thirteen) are expecting to bless us with great grand daughter soon. As a retired Naval officer I started a new career in commercial real estate. I specialize in retail and office. Throughout this career, I performed as a property manager in both office and retail, an asset manager and leasing agent . I also enjoyed commercial development and invester brokerage. My wife Garnette is the love of my life. She is a superwoman. Garnette raised our four children nearly by herself, as I was deployed on a submarine for for over 15 years. I am truly blessed to be sealed for all to her and my children by the proper authority life for all time and eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ Latterday Saints. I was a member of the Catholic church. When I asked my father-in-law for his daughter's hand in marriage, he explained the importance of the church In her life and the importance of a Temple sealing (wedding). He very kindly to just keep that in mind and if the opportunity presented itself to consider what it took and if I felt like I should move forward with the Temple or do what was necessary to do to bring to pass. Nearly two years later, shortly before my first child (son) was born the missionaries knocked on on my door. My wife stood back wile I answered the door and invited the missionaries into my home to teach me the gospel. So many of the questions I had for many years we answered. Questions my priest would just tell me that some things are just meant to be mysterys.

How I live my faith

I recently served as Bishop of m y ward in Texas. After five years I was released and we moved back to Wyoming. I currently serve as a home teacher. I enjoy home teaching and assisting the families I am assigned. Home teaching is a priesthood assignment though an assignment it is more of a privilege. I look forward to becoming a part of community activitie
