Hi I'm Wally

I enjoy helping people do family history work. It is fun and exciting. My family is very important to me. And I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I had to retire 9 years early to take care of my wife who had MS. Since her death, I have married a wonderful lady in the temple for time and eternity. I’m a volunteer at a city police substation. I also volunteer at a Family History Center teaching genealogy. I love music of all different types, although I lean towards the 60’s and 70’s. I enjoy the beauty of the mountains and I love good clean movies.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings of Jesus Christ are explained to me. Having a living Prophet motivates me. I have been taught to be self-reliant, responsible, and to have charity. Also, I have found that living the commandments can make life better and happier. I see miracles every day. I get the support I need and have the opportunity to help others. For years I had tried to find a better religion than the Mormons and could not.. During Air Force Basic training my mother died & I decided that if nothing is better I must join the Church.

How I live my faith

I have been a teacher, Scout Master, Librarian, Building Manager, Stake Missionary, Secretary to the High Priest Group, Temple Worker, and Family History Center worker. I have loved the different positions and the opportunities to volunteer my time and talents. I also get to visit a few families each month to teach and to serve.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Wally
We know through bible studies that this practice has been done before. We also know through Jesus Christ we have a choice. We know that even though we do this for the dead, they need to accept it. We keep the commandments to remember Jesus Christ & our Ancestors. Show more Show less
