Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a mother of five. I'm a reader, a runner, a cook, a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty typical stay-at-home mom. I totally like it that way. I'm super busy with 5 kids, ages 3 to 12 and a husband that is involved in work, school, church, city council. I am a voracious and eclectic reader. I run marathons--LOVE the feeling of a long, long run. I enjoy making food for family and friends. I am super social and love to be at any sort of get-together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it makes me happy. My entire life, when I've chosen to follow the precepts taught here, I've felt peace and happiness and have recieved innumerable blessings. I am also a member of this Church, because it makes sense. All of the commandments, principles, ordinances, revelations, leaders work together in a way that makes sense to my logical mind. I've never found things that contradict, especially if you look closely and with an open mind. I have chosen to be a member of this Church, because the Holy Ghost has born witness to me of it's truthfulness. It is something that is hard to explain, because it is spiritual and emotional, but so is the love I have for my children and my husband. I know that Heavenly Father and his messenger, the Holy Ghost, have told me that this is His Church. I know that following God is the smartest, safest way to happiness. And so I try to live my life in accordance with the principles and commandments I find in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by bearing and joyfully (most of the time) raising my children. I live my faith by being faithful and committed to my husband. I live my faith by trying to be honest and kind in all my interactions. I live my faith by serving others through church assignments (playing piano in our children's organization and caring for specially assigned women in my congregation), supporting my husband in his church and civic service and by looking for ways to help those around me.
