Hi I'm Valerie

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

About Me

I love to listen to music, sing, hear my mom play the piano and attempt to play the piano myself. I also love performing and acting and musical theatre. Even though I'm a little too old for Disney movies, I still love watching them and The Little Mermaid is by far my favorite. During the week I go to early morning seminary and I have a blast. I love to learn and feast upon the gospel of Jesus Christ. I play soccer and softball and I also like to go mountain biking as much as I can. On the weekends I love to hang out with my friends and family while watching movies, EATING, playing games and just having a pretty awesome time.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess I'm a "Mormon" because this gospel has given me something I've never had before: true happiness. While life is great, the gospel is even better. Having the knowledge, guidance and love of Heavenly Father constantly is something so great. It is so unique and divine. Through the church I've made the best choices which has led me to being such a happier person. Being a member of this church gives me the constant companion ship of the Holy Ghost, which I always feel helping me, guiding me and loving me through the thick and thin moments of life.

How I live my faith

Monday through Friday at 6am I go to early morning seminary which is where fellow high school students and I learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures. Each day I personally study and read the scriptures and I end my days with a prayer to Heavenly Father. My family and I have family days in which we grow together and love each other more and more each time. I love going to church on Sundays and feeling such a constant sweet spirit and joy.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Just as the Book of Mormon is the word of God, so too is the Bible. The bible testifies of our God- Heavenly Father and His Only Begotten Son, our redeeming Savior Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit. Throughout the Bible are many stories that once occurred and all show how Heavenly Father has given us agency, love guidance, and how all of our actions have consequences. The Bible tells of our Savior Jesus Christ who died to save us from our sins with this everlasting grace. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The book of Mormon is a record of ancient America, covering from 600 B.C. to the time when Christ himself came to America and down to about 400 A.D. An ancient fellow named Mormon abridged and put the plates (or records) together, which is known as the Book of Mormon. Mormon's son Moroni buried the plates in the earth. Then in the early 1800's he came down to Joseph Smith and lead him to where the plates where. The records where on gold plates and by the power of God, Joseph Smith was able to translate the plates to English in a perfect record. Show more Show less
