Hi I'm Marsa

I am grateful to have a loving Heavenly Father who has blessed me beyond measure. I love my Savior and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of this church for 34 years and next to the birth of my children and grandchildren it was the best thing that happened in my life. I moved to California in 1976 with my then 7 year old son and my sister. Finding the church and was such a blessing in my life and the life of my children and family and it literally changed the course of our lives. I am a Mother of 4 and a Grandmother of 3 and I teach music in public school where I also have a band and choir program administer an even larger performing arts program. I am am a DJ Entertainer for weddings and parties, I have had many callings in church and am currently Relief Society President. I have a daughter on a mission currently serving in the Colorado Denver South Mission. My life has been a series of ups and downs and I have learned that the intense trials have brought the greatest blessings even miracles so I will always be overflowing with gratitude for a loving Heavenly Father and for my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I am also grateful for the Book of Mormon and having a living prophet on the earth today!!

Why I am a Mormon

When I moved to California I was a single Mom with a 7 year old biracial child. In 1977 I was feeling that I was not really living in harmony with the principles that I wanted to teach my 7 year old son and I felt I should find a church with which to affiliate and put my life in order. One day while having a meeting with my boss who was a Mormon, he was asking how my life was doing. He always encouraged us to keep our lives in balance. He asked me about the various areas of my life and when he asked about my spiritual life I said--- to tell you the truth, I am church hunting. He shared a pamphlet with me and. I took it home and read it and it was the account of Joseph Smith and his First Vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This made sense to me and I went to church with him the next Sunday. I really liked it and he gave me the information to talk to the missionaries in my area and I called them and took the missionary lessons and invited my sister to take them too. I had a dream that I was supposed to get baptized so I set the date for March 26, 1977 . My sister was still having an issue with smoking so she wasn't going to get baptized then but the missionaries challenged her to have faith and pray and she stopped smoking and was baptized the same day It has been such a blessing in our lives and my brother joined a few years later and now he and his 8 children are members. We are so full of gratitude and have witnessed many miracles in ours and others lives.

How I live my faith

I try each day to just make the next right decision. I am far from perfect but I am trying to be the kind of person Jesus would want me to be, I help others when I can and love to serve and do missionary work. I love being a mother and that is one of my greatest joys. Seeing my children become the good people that they are brings me great joy. My grandchildren are a huge blessing and my daughter in law who is an amazing addition to our family, is a source of great joy to our family. I serve over 1000 children every year in my capacity as a music teacher and that is another way of serving like the Master who was always going about teaching and loving and serving and that is what I try to do. I try to always go the extra mile which is a principle that the Savior taught.
