Hi I'm Dee Marie Hall

I'm a Return Missionary, depression fighter, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old and I live in Mesa, Arizona after serving a mission in the Nebraska Omaha Mission for a year and a half. I am the oldest of kids and my parents are divorced. I have been a member of the church my whole life and each day I gain a testimony that it is true. I love to sing, play the ukulele, hang out with my friends, mess around with my siblings, watch movies, and talk to people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel, but there came a point in my life when I did have to find out for myself that it was true and then after that you have to continue to ask, to grow your knowledge and testimony that it is, to reach out to God and the Savior and come to know if They are really there and if They do really know and care for you. My mission was definitely one of those times. While I was on my mission I had a point where I was very stressed, very alone, and very degraded. I started to have many anxiety attacks, I wasn't eating, and I felt like crawling out of my skin and wishing I did not exist. I had experienced depression while I was a young teenager, but this was different. I then reached a point where I had to find a solution: medication or metal tricks. After much prayers and studying I felt okay with admitting I had a mental illness and that it was okay for me to use medication. Ever since then its still been a battle, but I have been able to gain a stronger testimony of Christ's Atonement because of it.

How I live my faith

Every day you wake up you have to make the decision if you are going to live your faith or not. Are you going to be an example of the Savior or are you going to follow the crowd? Some days are better than others. I try to live my faith the best I can, knowing that at the end of the day I can repent for mistakes I have made and try harder tomorrow. One of the things that really helps me feel the Spirit is by visiting the temple grounds. I go to the temple when I can, but sometimes its nice to just sit on the grounds, admire the Lord's house, and to ponder and pray. I am not ashamed to share with someone that I am a member of the church. Having gone on a mission and recently coming back brings great opportunities to bring it up and explain more. I love to share how happy the gospel has made me, even at my lowest of times.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Dee Marie Hall
A testimony is not believing something is true, it's KNOWING something is true. It's the thing that you use to tell others the truth. Show more Show less
