Hi I'm Kara.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kara and 21 years old. I've been called to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines Angeles Mission. I love my family and the church more than anything and I love music second most :). I'm studying Music Education and hope to some day be a choir teacher. I love writing and learning. I enjoy teaching others new things (especially music ;)). I also enjoy dancing, laughing, and making a fool out of myself. Life's supposed to be fun, so I try to make it as much fun as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the church, I don't think I was truly converted until I was 19 years old. When I moved out on my own for the first time, I finally experienced trials that I knew I couldn't handle on my own. I didn't have my mom or dad to hold my hand anymore and I needed to figure out, for myself, how to handle the trials that were coming at me faster than I was prepared for. I finally saw the need for my Heavenly Father's guidance each and every day. As I began to understand this, I saw the world from a different perspective, a more eternal perspective. I now understand the importance of families. I want to live in a way that I can have my family forever, not just on the Earth, but for all eternity. I am a mormon because I know that families can be together forever. I am a mormon because I know it's the only way to TRUE happiness. I'm a mormon because I love my family more than anything and I will do whatever I can to make sure our relationship isn't only temporary.

How I live my faith

I live my faith all day every day. It's not a bunch of little things I do, it's part of everything I do. I'm preparing right now to serve a full-time mission, so I'm trying my best to make my faith a part of everything I do because it will be the only thing I do for a year and half. I participate in the church's education system weekly by going to classes and singing in the choir. Throughout the week, I practice the organ, so I can play the hymns at our Sunday meetings. Daily, I pray to my Heavenly Father and study his words in the scriptures, so that I can learn how to be better tomorrow than I am today.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Kara.
YES!! And that's what gets me really pumped everyday to be the best I can. Through living the principles of the gospel, we can be with our family even after we pass from this life. I love my family and I'm so excited that Heavenly Father has given me (and you, too!!) an opportunity to live with them forever. Show more Show less
