Hi I'm Brittany!

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in South Carolina, but I currently live in Provo, Utah with my wonderful husband. We were married in the Columbia, SC Temple in June 2012 and we're enjoying life as newlyweds. I'm a fun loving person who likes to try and learn new things. I'm always up for a challenge or competition, but I also like to win those. I'm very shy and not super outgoing, but I love being able to get to know people and learn about them. I'm a "convert" to basketball, football, and video games. I don't like fancy restaurants, cleaning, bright yellow, heavy rock, or waiting. I love fast food, cooking, pink, alternative music, and superheroes. I'm a pretty normal person, all in all. Nothing too odd about me (unless you count my favorite character from Star Wars... but I don't). My name is Brittany and I'm a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

The church wasn't always a part of my life. I grew up in a family where my mother was a member but didn't attend church regularly because of my father's views on it. Instead of going into a huge background story, though, I'd like to share what really brought me into the church. My brother. He's six years older than me and he's my hero. When we were younger, he'd find ways to church... even though my family wouldn't go and he didn't have the support from us. His testimony and dedication are what inspired me and helped me grow in the church. He'll never know this, but I stood on his testimony for so long until I finally developed one of my own. And that's what this section really is supposed to be about, so I should probably get on with it. I have a really strong testimony of this Gospel, it plays such an important role in my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that he died for MY sins, and that because of that I have the opportunity to live with my Heavenly Father again. I can't even express how amazing that is. Our Heavenly Father loves us... each of us, as individuals. He knows us by name, he knows every single thing about us... even the things we don't know about ourselves yet. And he has a plan for each of us. A beautiful, amazing, eternal plan. How comforting that is in the world today and in our busy lives, to know that no matter what we think, there is a plan for us. We don't need to worry, because we'll make it. I believe that the scriptures are the word of God. The Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants have so much to offer us. There are endless amounts of knowledge within their pages and I know that if we dedicate ourselves to studying them, praying, and living righteously... we'll be able to overcome all things. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

A calling that all women have within the church is that of a visiting teacher. That is definitely my favorite thing to do and an amazing opportunity. I can't even express how wonderful and beautiful visiting teaching really is. Through visiting teaching, we're able to help, teach, share, and learn about the other women within our ward. We're able to become better friends and strengthen our testimonies through our lessons. It's remarkable and I feel very fortunate to have it in my life.
