Hi I'm Christina

I'm a Mormon. I need a since of community and belonging, there is not strong since of belonging that being in this Church

About Me

I am an artist who just had another birthday. I keep forgetting my age because to me it is not important in my life how old I am but what I am doing in my life. I have been to many churches-religions before I settles here and I even left for a while just to make sure I am in the right place. I write stories and I am working on my Christmas story for this year. I try to write one every year. Most of my family believes I don't believe in Christ which is not true. But I have found it is useless to argue with them. It takes me away from what I want to do. I like to draw angels and portraits. I gather unwanted stuffed animals, clean them up, repair them and sometimes I add clothing or other things to the stuffed animals and give them to Salvation Army. Sometimes I make angels or stuffed animals to give away. I read my scriptures. I collect different types of bibles. I have a New Testament in Greek and a Bible in German. I have several medical challenges but I have love and support from my daughters and husband and several friends in the L.D.S. church who help me so I can keep giving to others. Recently we move to Brush CO and became members of a great Ward in Fort Morgan CO. that has plenty of people with whom I blessed to be able to share my talents as an artist and with crafting.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I one night decided what we were doing was not fulfilling us and we needed a change. The next morning he saw our neighbors being visited by their Home Teacher. He was making sure they could get to work. He decided we should check out their church. It was the L.D.S. Church. We decided to give it one month and if we did not feel this was the right place to be we would keep looking. We loved it and found it to be just what we needed spiritually speaking.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures daily and pray a lot. I usually do short prayers like "Thank you, For this wonderful sunset to remind me that all art stems from You". I have no callings at this time but I do like to listen to the scriptures when I have a migraine. A friend and my daughters have given me different scriptures on CD's that way when I am ill or have a migraine, I can lay in my room and listen to the scriptures while I wait for the medicine to work. Like I said I gather stuffed animals and fix them up and give them away. I also give away my angels. I have an account on a websight but I keep giving away my new drawings before I can scan them in my account is lacking. I also do cross-stich bookmarkers, and other little things and give them to people. I let the Holy Spirit tell me who to give my creations to. I find it very uplifting. I was at the ER the other day and I gave a picture to my nurse and she put it on the board for all those who were working in the ER at that time to see - I heard it was a good moral booster. One time I was seeing a doctor and the nurse checking me in looked like she had been crying. I gave her one of my angels and she began to sob. I just waited for her to release all that stress. I don't remember why she was upset but that my drawing made her feel that other people care. That is what I believe is the reason God gave me to talent to draw angels. I am meant to remind people that God cares and so do other people in the world.
