Hi I'm Amanda

I was born and raised in Arizona. I teach martial arts. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Amanda. I look small and sweet but I have a martial arts black belt! I know two styles; Kenpo and Tai Chi. The first style is for self defense and the second focuses mainly on health. I teach five or six classes a week. This keeps me in shape and lets me spend time with some great people who are my students. Teaching Tai Chi works perfectly for my busy schedule of being a mom. Only teaching a few classes a week lets me spend most of my time with my sweet little daughter. I love her like crazy. We spend our days together laughing, reading, playing, and drawing. Eventually I may have another kid or two but right now my hands are pretty full. I also have two dogs. One of my dogs is 13. I've had him since he was a puppy so we have a lot of history together. Our second dog is young and hyper. We go running together 10 to 15 miles a week. My husband and I met when we were in high school. We both served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I missed him a ton while we were apart for two years but we wrote every week. My mission was a happy time full of service for others and love for my Savior. When we both got home we continued dating and got married the same year. We are both working our way through school. I take my classes online. With money and time stretched so thin its easy to doubt if we can really make our goals happen, but then I remember all the Lord has done for me and I know he will continue to help us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church is true. It's really that simple. The Lord has answered too many of my prayers for me to doubt Him. Living His gospel brings me joy. I am blessed every day for my obedience to His commandments. I feel the Savior's love and forgiveness when I repent of my mistakes.

How I live my faith

My faith in Christ should be evident in everything I do. I hope that my testimony makes me a kinder person and a more patient mother. Specifically, I give service in the church by having activity's at my house for the 8- 12 year old girls. We read scriptures, do service projects, and play games together. It's a good way for the girls to learn about Christ and make friends. I can't skip this section without talking about my mission. The biggest assignment I've ever had in the church is my mission. Women serve voluntarily for 18 months. I served in Virginia. While I was there I taught some amazing people! I guess it takes someone special to open their door to a stranger and talk about Jesus! I shared many spiritual experiences with these people, and got to see lots of beaming faces as they were baptized and became members of the church. It made my heart full to see how happy the church made them.
