Hi I'm Jeanette

I am a Wife, a Mother of 3 Girls and being a Mormon helps me find Happiness!

About Me

When I was young I always dreamed of having the fairytale wedding and raising a big family! Life doesn't always turn out how we had planned. But I do know that it always turns out as it should. As my husband and I made our 8th move, this time to his home town in Ontario Canada, my health began to change. I found myself lost in sadness and out of energy. This body that once had endless energy and thrill for life, now felt exhausted and lost in a sea of sadness and confusion. I sought help from doctors and therapists, and all they did helped, but nothing brought me real peace or understanding for the future until I turned to Jesus Christ. I still deal with the relentless symptoms of chemical depression, but the truths taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings meaning to my suffering. Even on my darkest days I always have a ray of Hope that shines in my soul, My Heavenly Father knows Me and what I am facing. My Savior has suffered all I am suffering just as I am feeling it right now. Christ knows me, He suffers with me on my bad days and sings with me on my good days. I know that when bad things happen to good people its not because God doesn't care, its because life isn't about sunshine and roses its about living and learning. Knowing the sunshine from the rain, joy from sorrow, devastation from bounteous blessings. We can only become truly acquainted with God when we have suffered some of his Great Pain and felt of his Great Joyfulness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to goodly parents who raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I always heard why they went to church and did what they did, but for me my commitment to the Gospel came when I was about 16. At a church lesson the teacher was talking about gaining a personal witness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. A personal witness... I thought about that for a time and decided that I wanted to know for myself, is all that I have been taught really true? That night I prayed and asked my question... I felt nothing. The next morning with my morning prayers the same question... I felt nothing. This went on for over a week... I had heard many people share their story of how magnificent it was for them when they felt the spirit of the Lord testify it was true for them. Then after many prayers and much pondering I knelt down again and asked again, and when my mind was really clear from all other thoughts, the answer came. In a clear voice in my mind I heard "why are you asking, you already know the answer to the question." It was then that I realized that I didn't need some soul burning experience to know the simple truth, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christs True Church and my life has meaning and purpose when I live and keep the Commandments. I have gone on to experience many amazing powerful spiritual experiences but for me the Simple Truth of the Gospel is just that Simple and True in every way.

How I live my faith

Every morning I wake-up and say my prayers and ask for help and guidance from my loving Heavenly Father. I help my kids get ready for school and pray with them at breakfast. I welcome them back home when there school day is done. When my husband Jon gets home from work I cheer with the kids "Daddy's Home". We eat, do homework, and share the stories from the day. Really for me living my Faith means doing what Heavenly Father would do if he were me. If He were a wife and mom of 3 how would he live? What choices would he make? I live my Faith by being the best person I can, making the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my guide on how to spend my time given to me upon this earth. For in the end nothing else will really matters when my time is up.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Heavenly Father loved his children thousands of years ago as much as he loves his children today. He spoke to them through Prophets just as he does today. The Prophets of old took the time to write down all God had inspired them to teach. We have these beautiful books of scripture provided to us by our loving Heavenly Father. When we take the time to simply read his words, we are given his blessings. Blessings come in many forms. I have received direct answers to prayers and questions as black and white as the words on the page. But, Usually for me the blessings come from simply being faithful to the Commandment to read his books. Things like, my children fighting less when we remember family scripture study. Or my daughter who struggles to read, when she participates in family scripture study (even the little amount she can) her spelling test scores always go up. There is a calmness in our busy home when we daily read. When I spend personal time reading the scriptures I truly feel a little happier. Show more Show less
