Hi I'm Winona

Mother of 5, Grandmother of 9 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to sew, cook, crochet, do family history work. I am a stay at home Mom/Grandma. I love my family and doing things with and for them. I recently discovered more ways to use the crockpot. Some of my families favorites are: spaghetti, chicken and dumplings, chicken taco, tortilla soup and chili. By lunch time it is driving them crazy but they have to wait until 5:30 for dinner. I have 4 dogs which belong to my children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was young. My sisters and I were baptized. Have followed the teachings of the church since then. As I look at my friends and relatives out side the church, I see pleasure in their lives but not true joy that comes from knowing the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I have enjoyed serving in the church, not for money, but for the blessings that come into my life. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ, Our Father in Heaven, the Book of Mormon, and the Bible. I have a testimony of these things. I am grateful for the many blessings and challenges that come into my life, for the strength that they give me to carry on.

How I live my faith

I vote in every election that concern my neighborhood and city, state and country. I believe that it is a great responsibility to participate in those elections and activities. I currently serve in the church teaching the 5 and 6 year old children about the Savior, prayer, scripture study, choosing the right, service to God and our fellow man. In the past I have served as Den Leader in the Cub Scouts, President of the children's group ages 18 months to 12 years old, music director of the children's group, leader of the girls 8 to 12 years old, teacher for the women's group, and worked with the 12 to 18 year old girls, teaching and camp planning, service projects. I love being a visiting teacher, we visit the women of our church and encourage them to live the principles of the gospel and to serve others. I love serving where ever I am called.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

There are 13 Articles of Faith accepted by members of the church. Some of them are: 1. We believe in God the Eternal Father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. 2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression. 3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. 4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are 1st faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, 2nd repentance, 3rd baptism by immersion for the remission of sin, 4th laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. 7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues and so forth. 11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. 13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul- We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report we seek after these things. Show more Show less
