Hi I'm Dave

I'm a husband, public school music teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a simple man who enjoys spending time with family and friends. I have a love of music and enjoy sharing my talents with my students.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot variables in life. It's hard to say from day to day what will happen and who you'll meet and how these interactions will affect your life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the one constant I've found. No matter how troubling the world is I know that my Heavenly Father cares about his children here on earth. I have felt that love when times are tough and look back and see his presence in my life. I know that Jesus Christ came to this earth to set an example for us and help return to live with God after we leave this mortal existence. When I follow his example by following God's commandments and loving and serving my fellow many, I find peace and happiness in my life. There are many people claiming to know the way back to God. But I know that Joseph Smith was chosen to restore the knowledge of the Gospel to us. He saw God, the Father, and Jesus Christ when he was just fourteen years old, and that he translated the Book of Mormon for use in our day and time. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is book with the teachings of God and Christ. I know this because I have prayed and ask my Father in Heaven if it is true. There is no other church on this earth that has the knowledge and teaching of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. God works through his living prophets, instructing us to stay strong and faithful in these days leading up to second coming of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The most important way I live my faith is by example. I don't smoke or drink, and my colleagues and friends know that. I would like for them to hear the message of the restored gospel, but I am respectful of their choices and allow them to believe in their own way. I am an active participant in my congregation where I serve a ward mission leader. This means I help the members in my ward share the testimonies with others not of our faith. I find that we have much in common with other faiths and as long as we keep an open mind, we can live in peace and harmony.
