Hi I'm B.J. Echols

I'm from SoCal, serving in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. I love my friends, family, and this church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm B.J. High-5!!! hahaha I'm from Del Taco Town (Barstow), CA :) , but I am serving in the Massachusetts Boston Mission English Speaking. I have one awesome sister, and two great parents! Since I am from the desert, I naturally love the outdoors. Before or after my mission, you could find me tearin' up the trails and riverbeds in a Polaris Razor, racing R/C cars, enjoying hiking and camping, playing tennis in the summer heat, shooting pool and bowling, hanging out with my friends, chilling at Del Taco or In-N-Out haha, and going shooting with my family. I graduated from Barstow High School, class of 2010! I was involved with the Aztec Marching Band & Wind Ensemble, tennis team, Key Club, and of course, yearbook. I'm a sophmore in college, but I plan to transfer to get a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and go into the U.S. Air Force. I am very grateful for my family! They are the best, and because of them, I am where I am today. I am an Eagle Scout, and a missionary. They set the best example for me! Espcially my parents, grandparents, and uncles. I love them!

Why I am a Mormon

The three greatest things in my life are: My Family, My Friends, and The Gospel. And all the three are related. I cherish my family because of the church, I love my friends because that's the way my family raised me, and because of trials I have faced with my family and friends, I have grown a stronger testimony in The Church. One of my favorite things about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is that families can be together forever. It was cool growing up in The Church and always knowing that and having that peace of mind, but as I got older and started to see the things that my nonmember friends have gone through in relation with their familes, along with my own family (funerals, sudden emergencies, scary hospital visits, etc.) I've come to appreciate it more and help my loved ones through it. And now being on a mission, I have more the ability to teach people about Heavanly Father and Jesus Christ and their love for us. I was born and raised in The Church. I was baptized at 8 years old with one of my best friends, by my dad. I was ordained a Deacon at 12 years old and recieved the Aaronic Priesthood. Then ordained a Teacher at 14, and a Priest at 16 years old. I recieved the Melchizedek Priesthood at the age of 18, and ordained to the office of an Elder. I'm proud to say that The Gospel has always played a big part in my life, and it is a major reason of who I am today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a good example. Going to church, living the word of wisdom, obeying God's commandments, and of course serving a mission. I have not held to many callings in the church yet, but my favorite was teaching the 7 year old Primary class with a best friend of mine, who is currently serving in the Tampa Bay Florida Mission. That was a fun experience haha. I also live my faith by being so close with my friends and family. Almost all my friends that I have grown up with in the church are currently serving missions. Every from Alaska and Tokyo, to the Dominican Republic and South Central Mexico, and I am very proud of them! One of my favorite ways to live my faith is always being there for my friends that are not members of the church, and sharing with them the peace of mind that The Gospel has brought me. I try to be a good example not only for my friends, but also to my family. I am the oldest, and I see how my sister and cousins look up to me, and I want to be the best that I can be for them.
