Hi I'm Sheldon

I'm a carpenter. I'm a water skier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Idaho and now I live in Florida. I am third out of four kids with parents who love deeply for each of us. I love to make cabinets. I also like to play sports. Some of my favorite sports to play are basketball, tennis, soccer, and rugby. I graduated from High School and am now serving full time as a missionary in the state of Florida for a couple of years. I plan on attending BYU in Provo, Utah upon returning home from my service. I love to laugh and to have a good time.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in the church, I always had the good influences in my life that helped me to be the best person that I could be. I eventually had to learn for myself what I wanted to believe and what I knew to be true. After much study and prayer, I had the Holy Spirit testify to my heart that what I wanted to become and do in life was only going to happen through living the doctrines that are taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so happy with the decision that I made to become a disciple of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, I get the chance to go out and talk to people all day about their faith in Jesus Christ and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of the Restoration of the Gospel will bless their lives. My favorite way to do missionary work is simply by serving those around me. I love helping others that are in need and could use a helping hand.

What is the priesthood?

Sheldon
When Jesus Christ was on the Earth, Christ gave the authority to act in God's name to 12 men, or the apostles. These men were then commanded to go forth using this power to preach the Gospel to all nations baptizing them in the name of Christ. This authority to act in God's name is what we call the priesthood. This priesthood authority allows those who hold that authority to act or to perform the ordinances that are essential for salvation. God has reached out and love and has called men in this church to hold this great power and authority so that we can all help to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of His children here on the Earth.
