Hi I'm Austin

I'm a door to door sales guy. I'm a student. I'm a son. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19, and preparing to serve a two year mission for The Lord. This summer I moved from my home in Arizona out here to Cleveland, Ohio to work. I go door to door offering pest control to everyone I meet. Walking for 8 hours a day can get a little tiring but let me tell ya, it's worth it! I recently recieved my mission call to serve in the Mexico Mexico City Southeast mission! Im way stoked to serve the Lords children in Mexico!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was fortunate enough to have been born into the church, I count myself as a convert. Every child of God should count themselves as a convert. To truly know Christ and have a personal relationship with Him and His Father, you must be converted. From the time I was 17 to the time I was 18, I decided I didn't want anything to do with church in general. Man, let me tell you, that was the worst year of my life. Every day I drew further and further away from the things that for so long I had followed and held dear. I decided I wasn't going to serve a mission like many young men and women do. I was lost. Only when you're lost you don't know which way to go. I did. I had that truth all my life and had chosen to abandon it. So I chose to be lost. Sounds like a dumb decision huh? It was. After about a year of denying everything I knew to be true, I broke down. I couldn't continue living the way I was. I changed everything. Asked forgiveness, not just from those I affected, but from my Father in heaven. I began walking back on the straight and narrow. I know Christ lives. He is there and knows and cares for ever single one of us. I know God lives and that he does hear and answer every single prayer. Even from an 18yr old boy who wasn't following his words. I know the power of the Atonement is real. Without Christ making that sacrifice, I wouldn't be able to return to my Father in Heaven again. I'm not perfect, but through Christ, I know my weaknesses can be made strong.

How I live my faith

Personaly, living my faith is a day-to-day accomplishment. Preparing to seve a mission has greatly helped me live my faith every day. I have recently started trying to follow a morning routine, that is when I don't sleep through my alarms. Wake up, personal prayer, exercise, scripture study, study spanish, make breakfast. The days I remember to do these things I find myself closer to the Lord and have a better understanding of his plan for me. Two years. Twenty-Four months. In October of this year I begin dedicating every second, every minute, every hour for two years to my Lord my God and to serving his children. Me giving two years of full time service pales in comparison to the multitude of blessings my Heavenly Father has given me.
