Hi I'm Emily

I'm a Mormon. I was raised and currently live in New Jersey. I am married and have two little boys.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom and also run an internet shop selling edible cake and cupcake decorations. I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Psychology and worked as a case worker before starting my family. I married a wonderful man who is an immigrant from Vietnam. He is ethnically Cambodian and the cultural differences definitely add spice to our family! I am par of a very close knit family that enjoys spending as much time together as possible. We live down the street from my parents which is a wonderful blessing for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church but as a teen and young adult I had to develop a testimony of my own. I went through several years of not living the standards of the church. Though my actions may have said otherwise my testimony never wavered. Eventually I developed the strength to act on my beliefs and began to live the standards of the church again. Through my trials I am able to see what my life would be like without the gospel and the standards that it teaches. I am so grateful that I have the blessing of the gospel in my life to keep me focused.

How I live my faith

I am a very active member of the church and try to fulfill my callings to the fullest. I teach in the Relief Society at the moment and it has really helped me improve my scripture study as I prepare my lessons. I also participate in as many social activities as possible. I am a member of the choir and love participating in musical activities.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Emily
The Bible is the word of God. The prophets in the Bible have given us precious knowledge that help us know and understand our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the Bible and its teachings. I love to read about Christ as he walked on the earth and the lessons that he taught the people around him. I am also grateful that we have in this church further teachings that come to us from the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
