Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a student. I'm an aspiring Nonprofit Professional. I'm a son, brother, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Economics, Nonprofit Management, and International Development. I grew up in North Carolina and fell in love with getting to know people of all difference backgrounds. There was a lot of diversity where I grew up, so I was able to see how this world is made up of so many different kinds of people. When I was 19 I became a full-time missionary for the Church and served in the Bucharest, Romania mission. As a missionary in eastern europe I got to continue my love of getting to know different people and cultures, but serving my mission changed who I was. I learned so much about myself as I grew to love the Romanians. I also saw so many people struggling to make ends meet for their families, and I knew that I couldn't just go back home and forget about them. I decided to study Economics and Nonprofit Management so that I can go and help people all around the world to live better lives. I don't know exactly how I'll accomplish it, but I know that the Lord will help me.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon, so I've been Mormon since I was born. While in Romania I had people tell me that the only reason I'm a Mormon is because my parents are. I can confidently say that that's not true. The reason I'm a Mormon is because Heavenly Father has told me that this is His true church and that following His teachings taught in this church will bring me eternal happiness. As I've lived the "Mormon life" and sincerely prayed and pondered about whether or not it's true, I've found out that it is by the Holy Ghost. I'm a Mormon because it has made me into the person that I am today and I know that it will make me into the person that I want to be in the future.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to continually build my testimony of the Savior every day. Life is hard, and there are so many different things that need to be done, but I've found that as I take time every day to study the scriptures, pray, and serve others everything that I need to do gets done. One of the things I like most about being a Mormon is the amount of resources that we have to stay involved in building our testimonies of Christ. I'm able to go to church every Sunday, go to institute classes throughout the week with other people my age and talk about how the gospel fits into my life, I have the scriptures that I can read and study, I have home teachers that come and teach me every month specifically to my needs and I'm also a home teacher and am blessed to go and teach others about Christ and hear their experiences and trials with living the gospel. I think that I'm able to live my faith by making the gospel of Jesus Christ part of who I am.
