Hi I'm Michael

I´m a nerd, I love epic things, and I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn. I especially love everything that has to do with math and physics to the point that I pride myself in being a nerd. I want to be an areospace engineer to design aircraft and am stuying areospace engineering to be able to realize that dream. I´m slightly obsessed with Lord of the Rings. I love basketball and always watch the NBA playoffs. I´ve lived in Boston, Utah, and Mexico. I speak two languages, Spanish and English. And the absolute most important thing in the whole world is my family. I love to spend time with them, laugh with them, play with them, grow with them, cry with them and try to ensure that they are happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I´m a mormon because nothing brings me greater joy, peace, and confidence than living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I don´t try my hardest to follow the example of Jesus Christ or when I fall short in my moral behavior I don´t feel nearly as good even if I am excelling in other things. But when I´m trying my hardest to live as Christ lived, and to do what he did I feel such great joy and contentment because I know in my heart that He is pleased with me. It´s a feeling that I never ever want to lose and that´s why I´m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love my family. And I want to do everything I can to make sure that we can live together again. I know that there are certain things that I have to do in order to achive that. From the scriptures and modern day prophets we know that those things are faith, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. I know that I have to do those things in order live with my family again and I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church that has the authority to be able to do them. So I am continually trying to have faith in Christ by, reading the sciptures, praying to my Father in heaven and doing the little Christ-like things that draw me to Him. I continually try to repent and correct myself when I make mistakes. And when I go to church every sunday I renew the promises I made at baptism and am blessed with the Holy Ghost. And when I do those things I not only prepare myself to live with my family again but am also blessed with happiness and contentment in my daily life and with my family.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Michael
This is one of the most precious and profound truths that we believe in. It`s really an amazing thing to think that you can live with your family forever. What are we going to take with us into the next life? Our house, money, job, fame, food...? What we are going to take into the next left is our families and the love that we have for them. Thanks to the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can be with our family forever, all that he asks that we follow him. Jesus Christ did his part and we have to do ours by doing what he asks. If we don`t, then the Atonement of Christ is in vain and we will take nothing into the next life except the regret that we`re not with our families. But, if we follow Christ and do what he asks then we will live forever with our families in joy, happiness, and peace. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Michael
Baptizm is like a formal promise that we make with God to show that we are willing to serve him. And we dont have to know everything when we get baptized, just enough to know that what we are doing is right. Baptizm is the door to get on the right path, not the end of the path. Jesus Christ himself began his personal ministry on the earth by being baptized. We too should follow his example and begin a new life, serving God, with baptizm. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Michael
The family is the most beautiful and powerful unit not only of society but of the plan of God. Because we live and grow and learn with our families for our whole lives. We face and overcome challenges together, we laugh together, we cry together, we fight together, we love together. Should these relationships that we have develloped over so many years end at death? No, they shouldnt. That is why God has provided a way for us to live with our families forever. So that what we have gained with our families lives with us into the next life. That is why the family is so important, because these are the people with whom we will spend the eternities! Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Michael
There´s only one way to become a member of God´s church, and that is through the door that Jesus Christ himself described, baptizm. Baptizm opens the door so that can begin on the path that leads to the kingdom of God, so naturally it is also the path to fully, active membership in the church. Being part of the church means being part of a convenant people, and to be a convenant people we have to make covenants. And the first one we make is baptizm. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Michael
A prophets role in God´s plan is to preach the word of God as God tells it to him and to do the ordinances that bring us slavation under God´s authority. In ancient times that´s what the prophets did. Moses taught the word of God as we see in the 10 commandments and did his ordinances as we see in the temple that they carried in the desert. Today there is a prophet that tells us the word of God in what we call every year a General Conference of the Church and we´ve seen him dedicate temples where the ordinances of salvation are done. And we can know that he is the prophet if we listen to him, and pray to God to know if he is. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Michael
Being mormon is different. It´s a big change of life style. We have our own little culture, traditiones, and common beliefs that make us different from other people. Those who live it, understand how the mormon community protects and helps us. We´re not antisocial, nor do we exclude other people because they believe different things, nor do we do anything strange or abnormal, It´s a way of life that can be hard to adapt to but its a wonderful change, a change that brings satisfaction, understanding, friendship, and self-confidence.
