Hi I'm Shaunna

I'm a mother, I have Mulitple Sclerosis and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom and I write clean romance novels as well as some women's fiction. After six years of work, my first novel will be publish later this year. I love my four children, two who've left home now, and my husband of over 26 years. We have two dogs at our home, father and son Shih tzus.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member of the church, but not always active. I didn't stray far or for very long those last few teen years. I'm sure I came back to the church because of the love and prayers of those who loved me. It seems teens naturally know it's time to choose who and what they'll be. I chose the gospel of Jesus Christ because of the peace it brings when life gets hard. diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis shortly after my youngest was born has had its share of challenges. Thank goodness reading the Book of Mormon doesn't take much energy and feels so good. It is with my family and the scriptures that I find some of my greatest joys.

How I live my faith

Over the years it has been my privilege to lead the music in several settings as well as to teach a variety of age groups form the sweet little three and four-year-olds, to the young women (teenagers) to the mothers in the various wards where we've lived. We've moved often, but have always found ourselves at home among the Mormons of the community. No matter where we've called home, the church is the same, full of friendship and love. Although health issues persue me, I refuse to let them keep me down for long -- "never say die" is a motto I try to live by, that and I know my Redeemer lives!

Are Mormons Christians?

I answer with an emphatic Yes! Consider our real name -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are not the church of Joseph Smith and although we recognize Joseph Smith as a prophet in these latter days, we do not worship him. We believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We teach His teachings to our children, our brothers and sisters, to all who will listen. Jesus Christ is our Savior and our Redeemer. Show more Show less
