Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in Syracuse, Utah, I am aUncle, a Marine, I love muscle cars, music, I am a christian, I love guns, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A little about me, is i LOVE old Muscle Cars, especially the Shelby cobra's. My dream car is a 1967 Shelby G.T.500. I love to be under the hood of an engine, tinkering around with it, and seeing how it works. I like to do that with a lot of things, to see how they work, and what the purpose is behind it. I am also joining the United States Marine Corps, (U.S.M.C.) i feel really strongly about freedom of choice and the freedom we get to enjoy in this wonderful country. I am currently serving however in a very different Army, the Lord's. I am one of his servants here in North Carolina, serving my Captain of Old, Jesus Christ on a LDS Mission. I want people to experience the joy, happiness, and peace that the Restored Gospel brings to my life, and the blessings that come with it, that is why i am serving a full time mission. I am a very artistic person, very creative. I love the water, and the summer season, and i love anything outdoors. I love my family very much as well, they are wonderful people. I have a twin brother, and a sister in law, and we are the oldest of 6 kids in our family. I am an uncle to a nephew, Jarin, that i've never met before. Family is a huge part of my life, and i'm so glad to have them in my life, and the blessing that they are to me, and the strength that they give me everyday. I love to spend time with them in any form. I think the best way we spend time together for our family, is when we are outside, enjoying the outdoors together.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason i'm a mormon is because, well i grew up in Utah, and yeah i was baptized but i didn't have a testimony of the Church. It was just culture in Utah. And i had that kind of attitude my whole life until i had a tragedy in my life. On December 5th, 2005, my best friend who had a strong testimony of the church, died of lukemia. That was really hard for me, and kind of woke me up. And from that experience i wanted to know, if this church was true or not, and if the teachings of the church were true or not. I had an amazing spiritual experience, in the which i found out without a shadow of a doubt that it was indeed true, and that the Restoration of the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, DID indeed take place. I know that the experiences he had are true, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church on the earth today. I also grew in my knowledge of the Savior from the teachings of the Church and that Jesus Christ is indeed my personal Savior. I have a strong testimony of the Atonement, and that it's never too late to come back to His loving arms. No matter what we've done. It may be difficult on the way back, and we may slip up from time to time, but it is only our nature. And as long as we confess and forsake our sins, we will be forgiven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others as much as i possibly can. I am currently serving the Lord by serving a full time LDS (Latter-Day-Saint) mission in the North Carolina Charlotte Mission. I have always lived the moral standards of the church because i've physically and spiritually grown by abiding by them. I do everything i can to do the Savior's will. I think, "what can i do more? What would the Savior do?" And i have a very strong desire to be serving others. I am going to be joining the United States Marine Corps, after i finish my mission. I try my hardest to model my life after the Savior's and do what He would have me do. My favorite scripture is found in John 15:13 and it says, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." That scripture means a lot to me because it's a testament of how any man can serve each other in the ultimate way, which is what the Savior did for all of us. It's a testament of the Savior's love for each of us, and of His atoning sacrafice. Another scripture that comes close to that is found in the Book of Mormon, in the book of Alma, chapter 26, verse 12, and it reads, "Yea , I know that I am nothing, as to my strength, I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in His strength I can do all things, yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise His name forever." That scripture is a testament to me of how if we put all our trust in Him, rely wholy on Him to help us get through our trials, and as long as we do our part to fight through our trials, He will help us get through them, and we will be made stronger as we go through everyday life, and we will grow stronger in our faith, and our courage to do good continually each day.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Nathan
When we are self reliant, we have discipline. Discipline is huge in today's society, especially with finances. When we are self reliant we are able to better use finances, be more independent, and we are able to know what we need, and what we want. There is a difference there. And with self reliance we are able to be able to tell the difference between the two, get what we need, and work for what we want. Then, when we attain the things we want, it's a blessing and the value increases signifigantly. Then we are able to know hard work, and become a hard worker, which will in turn, give us greater success as people. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Nathan
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, it testifies of Him as the Savior and Redeemer of the world, and that He literally is the Son of God. The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of people who lived here in ancient America. The Book of Mormon starts out about 600 B.C. in Jerusalem with a prophet named Lehi and his family. They traveled across the sea and they came to the American continent. They grew into a great civilization, and prospered. God after Lehi died, called many prophets up until the time that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to minister among the children He had here. The Book of Mormon is scripture written down by these prophets and apostles receiving direct revelation from our Heavenly Father. This second, separate witness is a powerful testimony that Christ lives, and that He IS indeed our Savior, and through reading and study, we can come to find out that the Book of Mormon is true. We study the Book of Mormon and the King James Version of the Bible with the Book of Mormon. They edify and support each other in their divinity. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith, (God's prophet he called to Restore His original Church), is indeed a prophet of God, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, is the one true church on the earth again, and the only church that has the Authority, or Priesthood, to act in His name. Pray about it, for I have, and i KNOW it is true without a shadow of a doubt in my mind. Show more Show less
